Description[edit / edit wiki text]
The color scheme of the football uniform (T shirt, underpants, leggings, boots), the features of individual details (the type of collar of the T shirt, the cut of the sleeve, etc.) has historically been determined by each football club (or national team) and corresponds to certain traditions.
However, according to the color scheme, each team has three forms — the main, guest and reserve.
The specific type of uniform usually changes by the beginning of the next season.
The main purpose of the reserve form is to be used instead of the main one if there is a problem with the regular sets of teams being distinguishable (the nuances are regulated by the regulations of confederations and tournaments).
The main element of a football player's uniform is a T shirt.
On the back, that is, on the back of each player's T shirt, there is a number under which this player plays in the team — it serves to identify the corresponding player on the field during the game.
Initially, the team's players were given numbers from 1 to 11, approximately corresponding to their position on the field.
But currently, at the professional level, players choose any number from 1 to 99.
Since the 1980s first in Europe, and then in the post Soviet period and in Russia — another inscription appeared on the T shirts above the number: the surnames or nicknames of the respective players.
They are located on the back of the T shirt, above the number (this tradition, like numbers from 1 to 99, was manifested in hockey before football).
Currently, the numbers of football players, in addition to the T shirt, are also usually placed on the underpants, most often on the side in front.
The football kit is now more developed than in the years of football development, when players usually wore thick cotton shirts, breeches and heavy hard leather boots.
In the twentieth century, football boots became lighter and softer, underpants became shorter and more mobile, T shirts were made lighter with the help of synthetic fibers, as well as more diverse in design.
The logos of sponsors began to appear on the uniform from the middle of the XX century, and the corporate uniform itself, issued under the auspices of the club, went on sale in order to increase the financial income of the clubs.

Goalkeeper equipment[edit / edit wiki text]
The goalkeeper's uniform must differ in color from the uniforms of other players and referees.
Forbidden equipment[edit / edit wiki text]
Players may not wear any equipment that may be dangerous for them or for other players (including any kind of jewelry and wristwatches).
Sealing jewelry with sticky tape is considered an insufficient security measure.
Leather and rubber belts and belts are also prohibited.
Since mid 2000, it has been prohibited to display slogans or advertisements of a religious, social, political or other nature hidden under a T shirt.
A player who commits such a violation is punished in accordance with the rules of the competition.
Also, if a player's T shirt is stained with blood, then he is forced to leave the field to put on a new one.
Penalties for violations[edit / edit wiki text]
Referee of the Russian Premier League Igor Egorov
After a violation, the game does not stop.
At the moment of the next stop of the game, the player is instructed to leave the field to put his equipment in order.
A player can return to the field only at the moment of the next stop of the game and only with the permission of the referee, who has made sure that the equipment complies with the Rules.
If a player returns to the field without the permission of the referee, the game is stopped, and he is punished with a warning with a yellow card.
The game resumes with a free kick performed by the opposing team from the place where the ball was at the time of the game stop.
Reserve players[edit / edit wiki text]
Checking the correctness of the equipment of the players coming on as a substitute is the responsibility of the reserve referee.
Judges ' equipment[edit / edit wiki text]
The referee, his assistants and the reserve referee must perform in equipment that distinguishes them by color from the players of both teams and goalkeepers.
The phrase "Men in Black" is widely used as an unofficial nickname for referees because of the traditional black uniforms worn by referees, although recently their uniforms have become more diverse.
