Number of players[edit / edit wiki text]
Two teams take part in a football match, each of which consists of no more than 11 players, including the goalkeeper.
A match cannot start if there are less than seven players in any of the teams.
The maximum number of reserve players that can be accepted by the competition rules should be in the range from zero to one hundred.
Maximum number of substitutions[edit / edit wiki text]
In matches held under the auspices of FIFA or national federations, the maximum number of substitutions is three.
In national league matches, the maximum number of substitutions can be increased to six.
In other matches, by agreement, it is permissible to carry out a larger number of substitutions, provided that the referee is warned about this agreement before the start of the match.
If the referee is not warned, or the teams failed to reach an agreement, then no more than six substitutions are allowed.
In all cases, the names of the reserve players must be determined before the start of the match.
A player cannot take part in a match if he is not listed in the list of reserve players, which must be handed over to the referee before the start of the match.
Replacement procedure[edit / edit wiki text]
The referee must be warned about the substitution.
Substitution is allowed only from the middle line of the field and only during the stoppage of the game.
The reserve player enters the field only after the player who is being replaced leaves it, having previously received a signal from the referee.
From this moment on, the replaced player does not take any further part in the match.
All reserve and substituted players are subject to the jurisdiction of the referee, regardless of whether they take part in the match or not.
Replacing the goalkeeper[edit / edit wiki text]
Any player can switch places with the goalkeeper during the stoppage of the game.
The referee must be warned about such a substitution.
If a fielder has switched with the goalkeeper, this does not affect the total number of substitutions.
The replacement of the goalkeeper and the field player can be made an unlimited number of times.
It is important that the form of the player who performs the functions of a goalkeeper on the field should differ in color from the form of the other players of this team who are on the field.
Violations and punishments[edit / edit wiki text]
If a reserve player enters the field without permission, the game is stopped, the reserve player is punished with a yellow card warning and is instructed to leave the field.
The game is resumed with a free kick performed by the opposing team from the place where the ball was at the time of the stoppage of play.
In case of an unauthorized change of the goalkeeper, the game continues.
At the moment of the next stop of the game, both players are punished with a warning with a yellow card.
For any other violation of this rule, the relevant players are punished with a warning with a yellow card.
Deleted players of the main squad and reserve players[edit / edit wiki text]
If a player was removed before the actual start of the match, he can be replaced by one of the reserve players declared for the game, the replacement limit is maintained.
In the event that a player was removed during the match, the team remains in the minority to finish the game.
