Read Huxley!
Part 1
There are works that few people have read, but everyone knows about them.
For example, Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey", Cervantes ' "Don Quixote", Dante's "Divine Comedy".
Once these books were read to the holes, and pieces of them were learned by heart in high schools and lyceums.
Who knows, maybe their time will come back?
But today, for the general public, it is rather the history of literature.
Aldous Huxley's book "A Beautiful New World" (not comparable, of course, in literary merits with the listed masterpieces) is a similar case.
Not everyone has read it either, but the title of the book has become a popular expression when they want to give an ironic or even sarcastic assessment of some strange modern innovations.
Which, however, is not surprising, because "The Beautiful new world" belongs to the genre of dystopian novels – such novels where the image of a possible future is drawn very unattractively, if not terribly.
Dystopia identifies the most dangerous, from the author's point of view, social trends and is theoretically aimed at preventing their rooting and development.
This is exactly how we treated the novel "The Beautiful New World" (or "Brave New World" in another translation) and even gave a similar title to one of the chapters of our book "The Descendants of King Herod", exposing the policy of "family planning".
Therefore, it was a surprise for us that the well known American oppositionist Lyndon Larouche and his associates consider Huxley not at all a denouncer of the idea of a "beautiful new world", but one of its main designers, developers, propagandists.
That is, not a fighter against evil, but, on the contrary, its creator.
We reread the novel, and since by this time we already knew quite a lot about birth control in different countries, and about school sex education, and about new technologies for processing mass consciousness, and about other globalization processes, we experienced a state close to shock when we saw how much of what the author had invented in the distant 30s of the XX century had already come true.
At the first reading, when we still did not know all of the above, and did not even guess about many things, Huxley's book was perceived by us as a kind of expanded metaphor or, rather, a phantasmagoric hyperbole.
In general, as something that in principle can not be, but that allows you to better convey the author's idea to the reader.
For example, when you meet giants, midgets, people with horse heads in Swift's Gulliver, it is clear that these are satirical images, symbols.
And now imagine: suddenly it would turn out that this is not fiction, but reality.
That there really were special laboratories in which both those, and others, and third parties were deduced…
Summary and some analogies
But let's return to Huxley's novel and conduct a small comparative analysis.
The action takes place in London in some distant future.
The people who live there are not born naturally.
They are stamped on the so called human factories and are brought up in a certain way from infancy.
In this society, all people are happy, because the factors that generate sorrows and sorrows are eliminated there: hunger, poverty, disease, aging, human passions.
Well, if some psychological problems still arise, they are easily eliminated with the help of a harmless drug – soma.
However, there are still places where people live in the old way.
One such person gets into the "wonderful new world" and becomes a real sensation there.
The savage, as the representatives of the new civilization called him, cannot and does not want to accept it, despite all the amenities and advantages that it promises.
He suffers deeply in the world of general welfare and eventually commits suicide.
Well, now, having briefly outlined the content, we will proceed directly to the analysis and see what of the described has already been realized, what is on the way, and what has remained the author's fantasy.
Let's go straight through the text of the novel.
Here's how it starts:
"A gray, squat building with only 34 floors.
Above the main entrance there is an inscription: "Central London Incubator and educational Center" - and on the heraldic shield – the motto of the World State: "Community, sameness, stability".
The director leads the students around the building and shows them how life is born in a beautiful new world.
They have to work here, and we need to give them a general idea so that they do it with understanding.
But it is necessary to give them only a minimal dose, otherwise they will not make good and happy members of society.
After all, as everyone knows, if you want to be happy and virtuous, do not generalize, but stick to narrow particulars; general ideas are an inevitable intellectual evil.
Not philosophers, but stamp collectors and frame saws make up the backbone of society."
Does the last maxim remind you of the attitude to narrow professionalism, which has long become a familiar norm in the West, and we have not yet taken root, but is being actively promoted?
Planned human production
We will talk about the other above mentioned realities (the educational center, the world state) later, and now we will go together with the students to the incubator.
Of course, children are not yet being brought out as described in Huxley.
We would not fixate on the technology of the process at all.
In our opinion, this is not essential.
The rejection of normal, natural conception and birth is fundamental, the transition in this matter to a planned economy and production line production.
As for conception, IVF (in vitro fertilization) it has already become not a unique, but quite an ordinary, even habitual medical procedure.
And here is a paradox: since IVF is presented as an opportunity for infertile women to find motherhood, according to the logic of things, without abandoning this technology, it would be necessary to throw all forces into the fight against infertility and eliminate the factors that cause it.
And they cause it – any obstetrician or gynecologist will tell you this an early start of sexual life, a change of partners and the "bad diseases"that accompany it.
The most reliable prevention of infertility is a chaste life.
But instead of chastity, debauchery is promoted everywhere.
There is also evidence that infertility can be caused by genetically modified products and even vaccinations.
But instead of conducting large scale independent research, this topic is being hushed up in every possible way.
And scientists who try to raise it are harassed and intimidated.
A paradox?
It depends on how you look at it!
If you build the future according to Huxley's patterns, then everything is logical.
In the" beautiful new world", artificial insemination should replace natural insemination.
This has not happened yet, but the trends are exactly like this.
IVF is recognized as the most effective method of solving the problem of infertility, and as the number of infertile couples increases, the number of test tube children increases accordingly.
At the moment, there are already 1 million such children in the world, about 30,000 appear a year.
Mostly, of course, in developed countries.
Lobbyists of new reproductive technologies are also trying to snatch as much money as possible from the budget.
And, since the budget is limited, somehow it turns out that the amounts allocated for infertility treatment have to be cut.
Traditionally minded specialists are outraged: why?
But because they have not read Huxley and do not feel the trends of the time.
With the unnatural birth of children, things are not so successful yet, but work is underway.
"People will still be cloned," scientists say.
Here is what the publicist Ivan Leonov writes: "In the summer of 2009, BBC News reported on the sensational achievement of British biologists from the University of Newcastle under the leadership of Professor Karim Nayernia the creation of artificial human sperm from stem cells.
Stem cells were isolated from human embryos a few days old after in vitro fertilization. ”
For the first time, we managed to create life with the help of artificial sperm, " Professor Nayernia said in an interview with the BBC.
Similar experiments are being conducted in the USA and Japan.
The media immediately picked up the message, and at the most tabloid level.
Theoretically, such a possibility of fertilization is fraught with huge opportunities, the media are choking with euphoria.
This means that a child can be born without the participation of a man or donor sperm.
The problem of male infertility will be solved.
In the future, it is planned to bring out a healthy, fertilizing female egg in this way in order to solve the problem of infertility of many women"[1].
Along with such studies, there is also a noticeable reduction in the number of natural births, because the birth by caesarean section is also, you will agree, not quite natural childbirth.
In many countries, up to 50-60% of women now give birth in this way!
At the same time, two birds are killed at once: women, in fact, are weaned from natural childbirth, suggesting that it is dangerous to give birth naturally, although in fact a cesarean, which is a cavity operation, is much more dangerous for the mother (since a scar on the uterus can later create serious problems for women's health) and even for a child who, with a sharp change in pressure, often has various brain disorders up to micro hemorrhage in the brain.
In addition, caesarean section allows you to effectively reduce the birth rate, since the next pregnancy is recommended not earlier than in two or three years.
And another one is not recommended at all.
Actually, that's why the creators of the" beautiful new world " took this operation into service.
By the way, the planned economy in the field of demography, which seemed so fantastic in Huxley's novel, now surprises no one.
For several decades, China has lived under the slogan equated to the order: "One child per family".
Now, due to the demographic distortions that have arisen, the plan for childbearing has changed somewhat, but the planning has still not been canceled.
The need to reduce the birth rate at an accelerated pace in certain countries is openly stated from the rostrum of the UN.
A new program aimed at men has recently been launched in India: "A car in exchange for sterilization".
The novelty, however, is relative.
Such motivational actions began to be carried out during Huxley's lifetime.
However, then the award looked more modest.
They could offer a box of soap or basic medical care for already born children.
By the way, the number of inhabitants of the "beautiful new world", voiced in the novel, is 2 billion people.
It is interesting that this figure has been cited as optimal for many decades by supporters of the ideas of the" Club of Rome", which released the report" Limits of Growth " in the 1960s, with which, in fact, programs for planned reduction of the birth rate on Earth began.
But Huxley called this figure 30 years earlier!
Perhaps we should follow the students to the next hall – the hall of predestination, where the embryos are placed in obviously unequal conditions, since when they mature, they must belong to different castes and have programmed properties in order to perform the work intended for them most effectively.
The fact that the globalist society of the future, which is a World State, which was mentioned at the very beginning of the novel, should be caste, is not yet officially stated.
You can read about this in the anti globalist literature, but in order to avoid accusations of conspiracy, we will not peddle this topic.
Let's just say that genetic engineering is developing successfully, and the opportunity to order certain external data and even the gifts of your unborn child is becoming more and more imaginable.
Formation of "correct" settings
Now we will follow the students to the " Young Nursery.
Halls of the Neo Paul formation of reflexes".
The author describes the terrible procedure of developing in infants of the "delta" caste, one of the lower castes of brave new world, an aversion to books and flowers.
That is, to knowledge and nature.
Eight month old babies are brought to the hall, where there are beautiful roses and there are books with bright illustrations.
And when the babies crawl up to them, they are frightened by the sounds of a howling siren, and then, to fix the negative reflex, turn on the current brought to the floor.
And soon, when the kids are already shown vases with flowers and pictures without sirens and current, they cringe in horror and start crying.
Here, probably, someone will object: they say, in reality, they still do not scare babies with sirens and do not beat them with electric shocks.
That's really true.
But the very principle of figurative and conceptual gluing of something beautiful, sublime with something that causes contemptuous laughter or even disgust, has become one of the main principles of processing mass consciousness from an early age.
Conversely, modern mass culture purposefully teaches children to love the ugly.
All these monsters, cyborgs, spider men, ninja turtles, Bratz dolls, transformers, etc.thanks to wide advertising, they become something extremely tempting, attractive, coveted for children.
As a result, they not only lose their taste, but also their value orientations are distorted, their psyche and personality are deformed.
And this is happening exactly in the direction in which the citizens of the "beautiful new world"were formed from childhood.
What is characteristic of their psychology?
First of all, these are ideal consumers.
I would like to emphasize that at the end of the 1920s, when the novel was written, there was no consumer society in the world.
America was approaching the Great Depression, Europe could not recover after the First World War and was moving towards fascism, industrialization and collectivization had just begun in Russia, so there was not much to consume and nothing to spend.
The vast majority of other countries were colonies at all, where terrible exploitation and poverty reigned.
Huxley, on the other hand, described with amazing accuracy what they began to create three or four decades later.
He even clearly demonstrated how the needs of this society are not only met, but what is fundamentally important!
- they are formed by manipulating consciousness.
Interesting, isnot it?
Through hypnopedia, suggestion in a dream (now the TV successfully copes with this, driving a person into a trance, in which suggestion is especially strong), Huxley's characters were taught to constantly consume, love everything new.
"Sheepskins are not worth fixing";
"Rather than fix the old, it is better to buy a new one";
"To sew up the holes – to get poorer and grieve" - these and other attitudes were received daily by children as part of the new moral education.
And they assimilated them for their entire happy life.
That's what, and it was realized in the West, and especially in the United States, in full.
And in our country, consumer psychology is rapidly occupying human souls.
Unless poverty still prevents this psychology from becoming mass.
Well, those who are richer, they throw away not only broken things and appliances (which could be repaired), but also quite serviceable, because they are, as they are now commonly expressed, "morally outdated".
And they do it with some special feeling: they say, this is how white people should live now.
By the way, what a seemingly idiotic phrase: "morally obsolete"!
What does morality have to do with it?
But, based on the logic of the "beautiful new world", this is not so absurd.
In any case, there is some kind of, albeit indirect, connection with morality here, since it is immoral for consumers to shirk from the constant updating of the clothing arsenal.
A righteous consumer must consume constantly, otherwise by what right does he smoke the sky?
In this regard, weaning from books also acquires an additional meaning.
The fact that the ignorant rabble, which has not developed thinking, is easier to control, was known in ancient times.
But for the consumer society, culture is also unacceptable by the fact that, to quote Huxley: "sitting at a book, you will not consume much."
Especially for a serious book that cannot be viewed diagonally.
Huxley paints a society in which they do not know and do not want to know about Shakespeare, history is despised and also thrown into the trash as morally outdated.
"History," says the Permanent Chief Governor of Western Europe, one of the ten Chief Governors of the world, "is complete nonsense. ""
He made a sweeping gesture, as if he brushed away a handful of dust with an invisible broom, and that dust was Ur Chaldean and Harappa; he swept away ancient cobwebs, and those were Thebes, Babylon, Knossos, Mycenae.
Shirk shirk with a broom and where are you, Odysseus, where is Job, where is Jupiter, Gautama, Jesus?
Shirk!
- and the grains of ancient dust, called Athens and Rome, Jerusalem and the Middle Kingdom, flew away.
Shirk!
– and the place where Italy was is empty.
Shirk!
- cathedrals are swept away; shirk shirk! - goodbye, "King Lear" and Pascal's "Thoughts".
Goodbye, "Passion”, au, "Requiem"; goodbye, symphony; shirk! shirk!.."
These days, this is no longer a fantasy at all.
The "Man of the crowd", who 20 years ago was embarrassed by his limited knowledge in the field of science, culture and art, is now not at all embarrassed by this.
And those who have such knowledge are contemptuously called "nerd".
(Isnot there also a distant roll call with Huxley?
After all, the kids of the "delta" caste were instilled with a dislike for the plant world, for botany, since a planned consumer society needs its members, when traveling out of town and, accordingly, loading transport, not to admire flowers and leaves, but to engage in such sports that require expensive equipment and inventory.)
Adult and children's fun
But the masses, saturated with bread (and hunger, as we have already mentioned, is defeated in the "beautiful new world"), demand spectacles.
The rulers also took care of this.
"Are you flying to the feeling room in the evening, Henry? " one hero asks another.
– I heard that there is a first class new tape at the Alhambra today.
There's a love scene there on a bearskin - they say it's amazing.
Every bear hair is reproduced.
Amazing tactile effects".
So what?
Do we, looking from today, see something unprecedented in this?
In recent years, you only hear about special effects in the cinema, and often in this context: the film, they say, is not so hot, but the special effects are amazing!
Tactile, however, have not yet been achieved, but this, according to scientists, is a matter of the near future.
But smells and a three dimensional image that creates the so – called "presence effect" are as many as you want.
In Japan, the first virtual singer even appeared.
It is not only heard, but also seen.
And not on the screen installed on the stage, but as a live one.
The voice is still a little unnatural, electronic, but science is developing in this direction as well.
Fixing it on an erotic scene in a sensation is also not accidental.
At the end of the 20s of the last century, this testified to a very bold fantasy of the author and was completely unimaginable in real cinema.
Now, on the contrary, you will hardly find a film without such scenes.
Even if they are completely out of place or out of town and give the impression of something forced.
As if this is required by censorship (which supposedly does not exist): not to erase, but, on the contrary, to insert a "sexual incentive".
It's time to recall the Soviet era, when any dissertation, even on the topic of improving blast furnaces, was supposed to insert quotes from the classics of Marxism.
Without this, the dissertation work was not accepted into the Higher Attestation Commission (Higher Attestation Commission).
And this was done not because of the whim of some senile official, but because the whole life in the state had to be permeated with Marxist Leninist ideology.
And in the" beautiful new world", total sexualization acts as the most important ideological component.
Children are taught the basics of sex from the most tender age.
In Western countries, this has long been out of the question.
"Sex clearance" is included in the pre school education programs where from 5, and where from 3 years.
In the second half of the 1990s, great efforts had to be made to ensure that our country did not follow this example.
Everything was ready: from programs hastily translated from English and Dutch, to educational cartoons and dummies.
But, thank God, these plans could not be implemented, although periodic outings of" enlighteners " to schools occur.
And in magazines for parents, you can read that in no case should you interfere with erotic children's games, since they supposedly contribute to the normal growing up of a child.
Well, Huxley expressively described such educational games in his novel:
"In the grass on the lawn among the tree like heather, two children – a boy of about seven years old and a girl about a year older were playing a primitive sexual game very intently, with all the seriousness of scientists who have gone deep into a scientific search.
"Charming, charming!
The Director repeated sentimentally.
"Charming," the youngsters politely agreed.
But there was a condescending contempt in their smile.
They themselves had only recently left behind such childish amusements, and now they could not look at it except from above.
Charming?
Yes, it's just kids messing around, and nothing else.
The fuss is infantile.
"I always remember..." the Director continued in the same mawkish tone, but then a loud crying was heard.
A nurse came out of the neighboring bushes, leading a crying boy by the hand.
A worried little girl trotted after him.
– What happened?
The Director asked.
The nurse shrugged her shoulders.
"Nothing special," she said.
– It's just that this boy is not too willing to participate in the usual erotic game.
I've noticed it before.
And today again.
I burst into tears here…
- To her Ford – - the girl started up, - I didnot do anything so bad to him.
To her Ford.
(Ford is the forerunner and deity of the inhabitants of the "beautiful new world" – - I. M., T. S.)
"Of course, dear," the nurse reassured her.
– And now, "she continued, turning to the Director," I'm taking him to the assistant senior psychologist to check if there are any abnormalities.
- That's right, lead the way, – the Director approved, and the nanny went on with her still roaring pet.
– And you stay in the garden, my child.
What's your name?
- Polly Trotsky.
"An excellent name," the Director praised.
"Go find yourself another partner."
The girl skipped away and disappeared into the bushes.
– A lovely little girl – "the Director said, looking after her, then, turning to the students, he said –" What I'm going to tell you now may sound like a tall tale.
But for an unaccustomed ear, the facts of the historical past in most cases sound like a tall tale.
And he told them an amazing thing.
For many centuries before the Ford era and even then for several generations, children's erotic games were considered something abnormal (a burst of laughter) and, moreover, immoral ("Oh, what are you!”) and were therefore under a strict ban.
The students listened in amazement and disbelief.
Were the poor little ones not allowed to have fun?
But how so?
– Even teenagers were not allowed, - the Director continued, - even young men like you…
– It canot be!
– And they, with the exception of homosexuality and self gratification, practiced stealthily and in snatches, had absolutely nothing.
- Nothing?
– Yes, in most cases nothing until the age of twenty.
"A twenty year old?" the students gasped in unison, not believing their ears.
- Twenty years old, or even longer.
I told you that the historical truth will sound like a tall tale.
– And what did it lead to? - the students asked.
– What was the result?
– The results were terrifying, - a sonorous bass suddenly entered the conversation."
Security measures
Encouraging children's sexuality, the mentors in Huxley's novel, just as they are now in the "civilized" world, carefully train their wards for the use of contraceptives.
The heroine – her name is Lenina wears a Malthusian belt similar to a bandolier, the pockets of which are stuffed with contraceptives.
In the years of writing the novel, hormonal contraception did not yet exist, and the so called "barrier" was banned in many countries, but since then, supporters of "family planning" have managed to produce, as they themselves called it, a contraceptive revolution.
The Malthusian belt, however, has not entered into modern use, but "responsible parents" in the West personally put a condom in their son and daughter's pocket.
Recently, by the way, in Europe, the production of these products for twelve – year old youths children's size has been established.
To combat "unplanned pregnancy" in Huxley's novel, sterilization is widely used, which is also successfully implemented.
In the West, up to 30% or more of the total number of married couples turn to this "wonderful method of surgical contraception" (quote from the advertising booklet).
And in contraception progressive Canada, only women of reproductive age (15-49 years old) who "have a partner" are sterilized by about a third – 31%!
Plus men - it's very popular there.
Normal childbearing, as we already know, does not exist in the "beautiful new world".
It is considered criminal.
But for those who are not sterilized, doctors periodically recommend taking a course of "pseudo pregnancy".
Doctors who are in charge of the "basic instinct" play a priestly role in the life of the inhabitants of dystopia: their advice is followed unconditionally, they are absolutely trusted.
However, even here the analogy with modernity is almost complete.
In Western countries, where "family planning" has been running for a long time, girls from school get used to listening to "their gynecologist" more than mom and dad, they drink hormonal contraceptives for years, which are supposedly completely harmless, then they are treated for obesity, infertility, breast cancer, but they do not associate one with the other and still trust "competent specialists in the field of women's health".
"Dr. Wells said that a three month course of pseudo pregnancy will raise my tone, improve my health for three to four years," says a friend of Lenina.
It would seem that such an obvious stupidity can not be embodied!
But no!
In the 1990s, when the "planners" acted impudently in Russia as in the third world countries reducing the birth rate by any means, some women were amazed to tell that the gynecologist assures that a pregnancy ending in an abortion is useful for the body.
And one doctor even referred to personal experience for persuasiveness: they say, she herself periodically resorts to this method of rejuvenation…
Mutual use
Having taken all the necessary precautions, the inhabitants of Huxley's world enjoy "safe sex" until they die.
Under the slogan "everyone belongs to everyone", promiscuity is encouraged, which is called "mutual use of the sexes".
It is considered indecent to deal with the same partner for a long time.
The concepts of love and even falling in love are absent.
When the Savage we have already mentioned reads "Romeo and Juliet" to one of the most refined intellectuals, Helmholtz, he encounters a complete misunderstanding.
"Helmholtz listened to the scene of their first meeting with puzzled interest," the author writes.
The scene in the garden delighted him with its poetry, but the feelings of the lovers caused a smile.
So to inflate yourself because of mutual use is kind of ridiculous."
The Savage did not manage to finish reading the tragedy to the end, because when he heard about the sufferings of Juliet, who was wanted to marry Paris, Helmholtz roared with laughter.
"Father and mother (obscenity squared!) they drag, push their daughter to mutual use with an unpleasant man!
And the daughter, such an idiot, hides that she is using each other with another, whom (at the moment, in any case) she prefers!
A stupidly obscene situation, highly comical.
Until now, Helmholtz had still managed to suppress the laughter that was making him laugh with a heroic effort; but “his own mother " (the Savage pronounced it in a pained, trembling voice) and the mention of the dead Tybalt lying in the darkness of the crypt – apparently without cremation, so all the phosphorus is wasted – mother and Tybalt finished Helmholtz.
He laughed and laughed, tears were already streaming down his face, and he couldnot stop..."
Abolition of parenthood
You were probably surprised by such a negative reaction ("obscenity squared") at the mention of his mother and father.
But there is nothing surprising here.
There is no family in Huxley's world.
The words "father" and "mother" are considered indecent and are actually banned.
Until recently, it seemed not only impossible, but even unimaginable fiction.
But no!
In 2010, the news spread around the world that the US State Department banned the use of the words "father" and "mother" in official papers, replacing them with "parent No. 1" and "parent No. 2".
However, in the spirit of the "beautiful new world", the term "parent" will be abolished sooner or later.
In Huxley's novel, all the children grew up in educational centers.
In the West, where juvenile justice has firmly reigned, more and more children are being removed from the family under various pretexts.
In recent years, we have also been trying to introduce this system.
Hence attempts to expand the rights of guardianship authorities, change the legislation in the juvenile direction, discriminatory financial policy in the field of support for blood families, etc.
At the end of 2010, everyone, even notorious liberals, was shocked by the news that the Public Chamber was going to present a certain foresight project (that is, the project of the future) "Childhood–2030"to the president at the State Council.
The text was so brazenly, so improbably anti family, that many considered it the work of the insane.
That's what it means to vegetate for so many years behind the Iron Curtain!
What kind of marginality is this?
The most that neither is the mainstream.
Read Huxley, gentlemen.
He is still in another "forsyte 30" - 100 years ago!
- I've planned everything.
Our domestic foresight specialists are much softer, much more careful in their expressions: they say, the blood family is hopelessly outdated…
Huxley expresses himself with a soldier's directness.
And where did his intellectual sophistication go?
"The native, native house – in its rooms, like herring in a barrel, the inhabitants: a man, a woman who periodically gives birth and a rabble of boys and girls of different ages.
Stuffy, cramped; a real prison, moreover, unsanitary, darkness, diseases, stench.
(The chief administrator drew this prison so vividly that one student, more impressive than the others, turned pale and almost vomited.)"
"Parental love is also an outdated myth," the authors of our domestic foresight whisper affectionately.
Huxley also cuts from the shoulder here: "And in the spiritual sense, the native house was just as vile and dirty as in the physical.
Psychologically, it was a garbage pit, a rabbit hole, hotly heated by the mutual friction of the lives squeezed in it, stinking of emotional experiences.
What a stifling psychological closeness, what a dangerous, wild, stinking relationship between the members of the family group!
Like a madwoman, the mother was shaking over her children (her own! family!) – it's like a cat over kittens, but a cat who can talk, who can repeat tirelessly: "My baby, my baby"".
Huxley's children, without exception, all grow up in educational centers, that is, in orphanages.
The authors of the Russian "foresight" humanely offer alternatives in the form of various "educational communities".
Even the idea of canceling school, downloading information directly into the brain via the Internet, which so shocked liberal minded citizens, was licked by homegrown methodologists from the creator of the"beautiful new world".
He, however, despite his brilliant predictive abilities, did not think of chips.
This is what students see when they are introduced to hypnopedia on an ongoing excursion (this is already yesterday for our civilization): "They entered and found themselves in the twilight of a curtained sleeping hall.
There were 80 cots in a row against the wall.
There was a light, even breathing and a kind of continuous murmur, as if faint voices were murmuring in the distance.
The teacher stood up to meet the newcomers and stood at attention in front of the Director.
– What kind of lesson are you conducting?
– What is it? " he asked.
– The first 40 minutes were devoted to the beginning of sex, " she replied.
– And now I switched to the basics of caste consciousness.
The director slowly walked along the row of cots.
80 boys and girls were breathing quietly, flushed from sleep.
A whisper flowed from under each pillow."
A quiet but distinct voice was listing the advantages of their belonging to the beta caste: "Before the rise, they will repeat this for another 40 or 50 days, then again on Thursday and on Saturday.
Three times a week, 120 times for 30 months, " the director said.
And he added: "Until finally the whole consciousness of the child is filled with what the voice has suggested, and what is suggested does not become the child's consciousness in its sum.
And not only a child, but also an adult – for life.

It is interesting and informative.
I periodically have thoughts about modeling situations in society.
These situations are planned in advance, and planners lead us to some of their goals, sometimes for decades.
Yes, it's scary, yes, it's terribly scary, but you always need to look for ways out.
Europe surrendered without a fight, and everything depends on us.

I quote: "Luda: oh, horror!!!!!
is this an Orthodox website?????"
Luda, why did you write your name with a small letter?

The following quote from here is also "The world was teeming with fathers - which means suffering; it was teeming with mothers - which means perversions of all sorts, from sadism to chastity."
Huxley says that Freud has one of the most important Christian values - chastity is a perversion, the same as sadism, masochism, pedophilia, necrophilia, etc.; and the family (in Christianity - a small church) is a source of suffering.
(Christianity is well aware that family life brings suffering, it is not by chance that the wedding ceremony is the wedding of the newlyweds with crowns of thorns.
However, love is above these sufferings.
Love is higher than death (Freud's Thanatos), because Christ has risen from the dead, and even more so love is higher than primitive animal impulses (Freud's Eros).
One more thing.
From the Greek language, the preposition "anti" is translated as "instead of".
Therefore, the word "Antichrist" does not mean "One who is against Christ", but "One who is instead of Christ".
In the society of consumers, instead of Christ, there is a "Ford Trade" , i.e. this is the notorious Antichrist.
Elina June 9, 2013, 21: 00
Then.
Quote "Our Lord Ford - or Freud, as he called himself for some mysterious reason, treating about psychological problems - our Lord Freud was the first to reveal the disastrous dangers of family life."
The first thought: for consumers, it does not matter who their lord is - Ford, or Freud, or someone else.
The concept of God is replaced here by a dummy hidden behind the name of Henry Ford, about whose real identity consumers know nothing.
Secondly, Huxley directly speaks about the destructive influence of the spread of Freud's psychoanalysis, in particular on the family.
(Freudianism is an anti Christian doctrine.
Freud says: man is driven by Eros and Thanatos (the desire to mate and the fear of death), which appears in the basis of Marxism.
Christianity says that a person is driven by love.
Actually, the influence of Freud's ideas, replacing the influence of Christian ideas, we can safely observe with our own eyes in our consumer society, and we should not be surprised why we have so many divorces.)
Elina June 9, 2013, 21: 00
The following.
As we understood, Ford is here instead of God.
We look at the expressions in which the heroes of the book mention the name of their god.
They say: "To her Ford!"
, " Ford is with him!", "Ford knows what", " Ford damn it!".
Now let's see what words the people of our society would use instead of these expressions.
In the first case, they would say " By God!"; in the second case, a good person would say "God be with him!", and a bad person would say "the hell with him!"; in the last two expressions, a modern person would definitely use the word "damn".
It turns out that in this consumer society there is no difference between God and the devil - God and the devil are the same thing here - this is Ford.
Elina June 9, 2013, 21: 00
A couple of weeks ago, I read Huxley's "Brave New World" - a dystopia about the consumer society.
The book has caused me a lot of thoughts.
The most amazing things:
In the consumer society, the supreme figure is Henry Ford (this is something like Karl Marx in the USSR).
Their chronology is conducted from the year of release of the first Ford T model to the automotive market, which then brought prosperity to the Ford company.
(In our world, Muslims begin their calendar with the year of the Hijra, and Christians with the Nativity of Christ.
By the way, somewhere in that year, reading pre revolutionary sources/literature, I discovered for myself that dates appear in it from A.D. or before A.D.
And I thought, we donot write and donot say that now, we write the year AD or BC.It seems that the Soviet government arranged such a substitution of terms).
Instead of the sign of the cross, these people have the letter T - in memory of the Ford T car.
Accordingly, Ford in this society, like Karl Marx in Soviet society, replaced God.
Consumers (let's call the members of the consumer society that way) say "our Lord Ford".

* "Fixing it on an erotic scene in a sensation is also not accidental.
At the end of the 20s of the last century, this testified to a very bold fantasy of the author and was completely unimaginable in real cinema.
Now, on the contrary, you will hardly find a film without such scenes.
Even if they are completely out of place or out of town and give the impression of something forced.
"Where are the erotic scenes in the Matrix trilogy, for example?
*"And in the " beautiful new world", total sexualization acts as the most important ideological component.
Children are taught the basics of sex from the most tender age.
In Western countries, this has long been out of the question.
"Sex clearance" is included in the programs of preschool education where from 5, and where from 3 years. "
From 3 years?!
Can I list specific cases?!
Did you accidentally confuse it with pedophilia?

Pray that your flight does not happen in the winter or on the Sabbath, for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, and will not be.
And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened. ( Matthew 24: 20-22)
All this must be done, and therefore it is commanded to watch, so that this day does not find us unprepared.
for no word will remain powerless with God.(The gospel of Luke 1: 37)

It is clear that Huxley knows exactly what he is writing about, he does not prophesy, because he is not a prophet,he just knows the plan according to which everything is being carried out, and is being carried out, where people have turned away from God and preferred material goods and amenities.
And we, as Orthodox Christians, should not read such books, otherwise we will not be saved,it is better to do what we are obliged to do for the salvation of the soul(fasting, prayer, repentance, virtue)and then, as our beloved Serfim Sarovsky said, thousands will be saved around us and our children too.

There is also Orwell with his 1984.
Also a prophetic book
Elizaveta17 March 2012, 19: 00
I liked the article, of course, we need to talk about it.
The direction to the "new world according to Huxley" is obvious and we can already observe it today.
This is the removal of children from families, especially the cases that have recently become sensational in the media in France and Finland, in shelters where children are temporarily placed, children are forced to forget about their parents, or a case in France when a mother was taken away from her son for excessive maternal love and gave the boy to another woman, or other cases when fathers steal even infants from their wives, etc. everything that is written in this novel has already been implemented.
Here we are becoming civilized, I wonder who needs it?

Interesting are the comments that are outraged by the fact that the authors made a comparative analysis of the book and our reality.
The position of "Catherine" and "Natalia" is very similar to the pose of an ostrich hiding its head in the sand from impending danger.
Of course, you can live without delving into what is happening, without realizing it.
This is, in principle, how most people in the world live.
The authors do not frighten, do not frighten with examples, they, like professional psychologists, open our eyes to what is happening.
Warned - means.
armed.
The forces of evil are afraid when light penetrates into their dark realm and shows a real picture of the evil at work.
Of course, "Natalia", you can die of conscious longing after reading this article, or you can do something useful with real deeds, like its authors.
God grant them good health!
Tatiana 17 March 2012, 16: 00
The authors of this article generally have their main publications very similar in tone - a lot of negativity.
Of course, you canot run away from the truth.
But, every time I read Shishov and Medvedev, my optimism drops.
Elena17 March 2012, 07: 00
Ekaterina, you canot hide your head in the sand.
You need to know the enemy by sight in order to fight him.
Do you want only positive information so as not to get discouraged?
So this is the position from Huxley's world.

It becomes obvious that the reality is even scarier than Huxley's.
But I want to live in the illusion of self deception until the moment of final death, in order to justify my inaction and heretical "non resistance to evil"by ignorance.
Ekaterina 16 March 2012, 00: 00
And I do not agree that such a heavy "reading matter" should be brought to the masses.
This leads people into depression and hopelessness.
And then the thought is material.
So why give such a thought even more life.
Write an article about a bright, good future.
Think light and give this verbal light to people.
There is a great lack of good literature now.
Everyone is chasing a sensation.
And another aspect: No one forces us to do IVF or use mobile phones.
God gave us a choice.
And each person makes it himself.
Yes, there is a massive propaganda campaign, yes, there is a "Roman Club", but why should it be promoted even more.
After all, knowledge can be useful, but it can also be harmful.
Maybe it's better to ask yourself what I'm doing: love?
a candle?
regret it?
There is no need to spread panic and fear, then a person loses his will and is defenseless.
In an article on this site, I read an interesting dialogue: In the Optina Desert, a woman asked a monk: "Father, is it true that the "end of the world" is coming soon?
To which the Father calmly, with a smile, replied: "Yes, no, we'll live some more."
That's from such words st it's getting warm.
God save such wonderful Fathers.
Andrey15 March 2012, 21: 00
The future was also predicted by the Srugatskys in the "Inhabited Island", whose planet earth is built up with towers of emitters that are turned on from time to time for the common good.
Now, even in remote villages, you will often find such a tower of a mobile operator...
And after all, once people managed perfectly well with a pay phone or simple mail.
And they didnot die from lack of mobility...

Natalia 15 March 2012, 15: 00
An unconscious melancholy covers from our mass media.
And from such incriminating articles the melancholy is already conscious.
The only hope is in the providence of God.
The fact that malicious organizations will sterilize themselves before they take over the whole world, or the life span will be reduced again so much that they will not have time to plan and implement evil plans, only good ones :).
That's where you think - it's good that we donot live for 900 years.
And then the horror that they would have done.
And so, we donot know where to go... thank God, He disposes, and not us.

God save the authors for their thankless work they are digging up the most "dirty" world trends.
Perhaps everything is very exaggerated, but I think the authors are doing the main task - they are "vaccinating" against all these abominations that can threaten the traditional Orthodox family.

And I saw: behold, as if a lion ran out of the forest and roared, let out a human voice to the eagle and said: Listen to what I will say to you and what the Most High will say to you…
When the lion spoke these words to the eagle, I saw that the head no longer appeared, which remained together with the four wings…
And I saw, and now they were gone, and the whole body of the eagle was burning…
The lion whom you saw rising up from the forest and roaring, speaking to the eagle and rebuking him of his iniquities with all his words that you heard, this is the Anointed One, preserved by the Most High to the end against them and their wickedness, Who will rebuke them and present their oppressions before them.
He will bring them to the judgment of the living and, having rebuked them, will punish them.
He will mercifully deliver the remnant of My people, those who have been preserved within My borders, and will rejoice them until the end comes, the day of judgment (3ezd.11,37 – 12,3 and 12,31-34).
The only country in the world whose coat of arms includes George the Victorious striking a dragon with a spear is Russia.
As it turns out now, the "iron Curtain" was good for us.
If we add here the prophecies of the great Russian elders, the insight of many of our thinking people, much deeper than that of the intellectuals of the West, then Russia's mission becomes clear.
This is the mission of St. George the Victorious, this is the mission of the detaining, this is the mission of the gravedigger of the Beast
