Deputy and cosmonaut Roman Romanenko:" I go to work by train " Hero of Russia visited the AP 04.02.2016, 07: 15The cosmonaut who goes to work in the State Duma by train and never sleeps at meetings, visited the Amurskaya Pravda.
The Hero of Russia Roman Romanenko has been mastering a new profession of a deputy for three months.
He has been representing the Amur region in the lower house of parliament since his predecessor changed his deputy seat to a senatorial one in the fall.
At the beginning of the week, Roman Romanenko talked with the Blagoveshchensk residents in the reception of United Russia, the next day he went to a meeting with residents of the city of Tsiolkovsky, which was recently renamed Uglegorsk.
Yesterday I held a meeting with schoolchildren students of aerospace classes of the Amur capital.
How the cosmonaut was given the transition to the State Duma, how he communicated with Putin in orbit, what place sports now occupies in life and what Roman Romanenko thinks about films about space, read in our interview.
— The invitation to become a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation was a big surprise, a thunderbolt out of a clear sky?
- That's right, it was.
In Roscosmos, I expected to go further for promotion, it was time to give way to young people.
I got a call in the evening, I had just arrived from vacation, I was putting the car in the garage.
They asked me to make a decision and call back at any time.
The governor was waiting for an answer.
At first I thought that they were joking, because there was already an Amur deputy from United Russia in the State Duma.
Everyone was involved, the head of Roscosmos, Igor Komarov, called me, said: "Come on."
I talked to familiar deputies and made a decision in the morning.
Within 5 days, it was necessary to terminate the contract with the cosmonaut training center.
I come and say, " I'm quitting."
Colleagues to me: "Come on, donot make us laugh."
There were 11 months left to finalize it in the State Duma before her re election, and then no one promised anything.
Of course, I would like to run again from the Amur Region.
I seem to be just starting to enter this role, but there are results.
If I fail in the State Duma, I have the right to return back to Roscosmos and make my next flight, if there are not enough fighters.
But to do this, I will need to pass a lot of medical tests and about 30 exams.
I can do other work in Roscosmos, but I would like, of course, not to stop, to stay in touch with the Amur Region.
The classic question that schoolchildren ask Roman Romanenko at meetings is: do aliens exist?
— You helped to rename Uglegorsk to Tsiolkovsky, tell us this story.
— Yes, indeed, in two months I managed to promote the law on renaming Uglegorsk to Tsiolkovsky, as they say, I made him "legs".
He would have walked around the offices of the authorities for at least another year.
Usually, if a law is allowed to take its course, it takes from a year to three years to adopt it due to bureaucratic delays.
My region asked me to do this, and I myself wanted to speed up the process.
When I was in space in 2013, on the eve of April 12, we were told that President Vladimir Putin was coming to the Vostochny Cosmodrome, he would get in touch with you.
Such a fuss began: they started calling us day and night, checking the quality of communication between Vostochny and the ISS.
Everything went well.
They woke us up at night, asked us to smile, we quickly got dressed, and the president said: "Advise us, we want to call the city Tsiolkovsky."
I think: "Wow, to advise the president."
We talked for about 20 minutes, and of course we supported the proposal.
This was recorded in the protocol, and everything went from there.
— What other results have been achieved in the deputy field in three months?
— I have already held receptions several times both in Uglegorsk and in Blagoveshchensk.
I managed to launch about 12 procedures for citizens ' appeals.
One thing, by the way, is connected with the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome — there Dalspetsstroy did not fulfill its obligations to the company that supplied computer equipment, buying everything for its own money.
They appealed to all authorities to no avail and came to me.
I handed over the documents to the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, the process began.
The authorities have already replied that they are starting to work on this issue.
Also, residents raised the issue of communication in Uglegorsk.
It's terrible there, I felt it on myself.
Everyone almost cried and asked me to help.
There are no complaints right now, but I will definitely check if the issue has been resolved.
There were also serious problems with the Russian Post there: it did not work, because there was no money for servicing postmen.
We had conversations with representatives of the Russian Post, everything seems to be moving in the right direction, but time is needed.
— Arenot you bored in the State Duma after cosmonautics?
— You know, flexible people are selected for astronauts.
We are going through a powerful professional selection and, in principle, we are ready to easily change from one direction to another, since there is a multi sided work in space.
We can be geographers, scientists, operators, pilots, and doctors.
Of course, it takes time to understand any activity.
By the way, I donot sleep in the State Duma (laughs), I'm really interested there.
This includes communicating with the old army, learning from experience.
I'm still reeling on the mustache, accumulating information, it's a whole school.
He spoke from the podium three times.
Roman Romanenko has fellow cosmonauts in the lower house of parliament: State Duma deputies Valentina Tereshkova and Svetlana Savitskaya.
These are the first and second female astronauts in history.
At one time, cosmonaut Yuri Baturin was a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
— How busy is your schedule, do you have enough time for family, for rest?
— Over time, there is a lot of tension now.
I live in Star City, I go to work by train, I leave at seven in the morning — at nine thirty on the spot.
At around half past six in the evening, I go home by official car and get there about three hours.
I start doing some of the work on the train on the way to the State Duma, returning home, I also work, for example, with letters.
There is almost the same amount of time left to communicate with the family now, because the load was the same at Roscosmos.
There are business trips twice a month, in addition to the fact that all cosmonauts constantly go abroad — America, Japan, Canada, Europe, where joint crew training takes place.
Plus, there are a lot of invitations to speak somewhere, to participate in events.
Therefore, it is the same for the family.
But the weekend is mine.
- Do you follow the criminal cases at the cosmodrome and the construction of the Vostochny?
— I donot follow criminal cases closely, but I am aware that everything is not very good there.
I saw the construction of the cosmodrome at the stage when there were flags in the field, and then, after the flight into space, I arrived and was surprised — work was already underway in the launch complex shaft.
In general, the result was global, but not everything is going smoothly.
Comparing it with Baikonur, I can say that I like how compact everything was done, like at the Kourou cosmodrome in South America.
That's cool.
- Do you miss space?
- It's better not to remember.
Sometimes, in the evening, I will go to YouTube to watch the launch of a spacecraft.
I sit for an hour, two it's interesting.
The first impressions of the flight will never be forgotten.
Imagine: you fly at night, you fly beyond the Urals, from the west.
Silence, solid night, there is nothing.
You fly to Vladivostok — and everything bright begins there.
A bunch of ships, they shine searchlights, Japan.
And during the day, a forest can be seen in the Amur region.
And the rivers are powerful, of course, Zeyu and Amur it's such a beauty!
I DREAM ABOUT SWIMMING
— You are not preparing for a flight into space, but you still remain cheerful and fit, what place does sports occupy in life now?
— There is no free time, and there is not enough time for sports.
I even dream that I'm swimming in the pool.
When I was in space, where it was difficult with water, I also dreamed.
There, if they asked me what I wanted, I immediately answered: dumplings and swim.
Sometimes I find time to swim in the pool in Star City.
Even if an astronaut leaves for another job, he always has the right to come and work out with the current astronauts in the gym.
There are my skis and skates there, in the summer you can ride a bike or play lawn tennis.
This is a happiness for me, because the sport has now gone to the side.
I donot follow a diet, I just try to eat less, I always leave the table with a feeling of slight hunger.
I try not to eat sweets, now after the holidays it's time to fast a little.
VOSTOCHNY IS PREPARING FOR LAUNCH
Roman Romanenko plans to participate in the first unpiloted launch of an aircraft from the Vostochny cosmodrome.
It is scheduled for April 25 this year.
"I definitely plan to come, I will try to do everything for this,"he said.
When asked whether this launch will take place in principle, the cosmonaut noted: "It was the same with the first flight into space: no one believed in it, but everything really happened."
By the way, while the first manned launch from Vostochny was scheduled for 2018, Roman Yuryevich wanted to become the first cosmonaut to fly from the Amur cosmodrome.
But after the transfer of the flight to 2021-2023, it is not a fact that it will be possible to do this.
"Perhaps by that time I will no longer be up to it," Roman Romanenko suggested.
"GRAVITY" ACCURATELY CONVEYED THE COSMONAUT'S STATE OF MIND
We couldnot help but ask cosmonaut Roman Romanenko if he liked the sensational films about space.
"In the plane, it turned out to partially see the "Martian".
I looked for an hour and twenty, and then fell asleep, it seemed to me somehow tedious.
"Interstellar" started watching, but also fell asleep.
Tedious monologues.
They say it's a good movie, but I havenot finished watching it.
I like action more, like in real life.
I really liked the movie "Gravity".
I watched 3D in the cinema.
From the point of view of how everything was presented, computer graphics, this beauty is great.
The state of mind of the cosmonaut, the astronaut during the spacewalk was clearly conveyed, this is directly one to one.
And here is this view of the Earth, when it flies and the terminator flies, the night begins on the Ground, the lights turn on…
Everything is exactly the same.
Such a buzz — and silence, " Roman Yuryevich admits.
However, there were some mistakes in "Gravity".
"It is clear that this is a feature film, but, for example, it is impossible for all stations to fly in the same orbit," the cosmonaut notes.
Also, in fact, the fragments of the satellite could not fly to the station, because it and the satellite are in different, disjoint orbits.
