Biography, life story of Darwin Charles
Charles Robert Darwin is an outstanding scientist, naturalist, recognized naturalist and a brave traveler who developed a theory of the evolution of all living things (it later became known as Darwinism).
Charles Robert Darwin was born in the city of Shrewsbury, which is located in the county of Shropshire near the border with Wales in England.
It happened on 12.02.1809 in a wealthy family of an English doctor.
The members of the Darwin family were characterized by a developed intellect, a high cultural level and a broad outlook.
Erasmus Darwin, Charles ' own grandfather, was a famous doctor, philosopher and writer.
Even as a child, little Darwin awakened a sincere interest in wildlife research and a penchant for collecting.
After the death of his mother in 1817, Charles and his older brother Erasmus were sent to a local boarding school a year later.
After successfully graduating from boarding school, Charles Darwin began studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1825.
However, the young man did not feel predisposed to this profession, he stopped studying at the university, and then, at the insistence of his father, he entered the University of Cambridge to study theology.
Not being completely convinced of the truth of the postulates of Christianity, Charles, although he graduated from a Christian college, however, left its walls in 1831 not as a theologian, but as an established naturalist collector.
This was facilitated by the active participation of the young man in the life of scientific societies in England, as well as his natural inclinations, as well as close acquaintance with zoologists, prominent botanists and famous geologists.
The life of a naturalist
As a naturalist scientist, Charles Darwin took part in the famous round the world trip for five whole years (in the period 1831-1836), having got on board a ship called the Beagle on the recommendation of friends.
During this long voyage, he collected truly remarkable collections of plants and insects, and Darwin presented his impressions and rather subtle observations in a two volume book that made him famous in the world scientific community.
Charles Darwin returned from this voyage as a well formed major scientist who saw in science both the meaning of his life and his own vocation.

After returning to England, Darwin worked in the period 1838-1841 as secretary of the Geological Society in London.
Charles in 1839 tied his life by a legal marriage with Emma Wedgwout, and this woman later bore him ten children.
In 1842, the family of Charles and Emma left the capital of England, citing the poor health of its head.
They settled in the estate of Down, located in the county of Kent.
Darwin lived in this house until the very end.
Darwinism
Enjoying a measured and secluded life in the bosom of nature, leading an almost hermit existence, Darwin devoted himself entirely to scientific works.
He took up the development of a theory of the evolution of terrestrial organic forms.
The most basic factors that testified to the evolutionary development of all living things were reflected by the scientist in his main work, which was published in 1859.
After the publication of "The Origin of Species...", after almost ten years of hard work, a two volume book was published in 1868 entitled "The Change of cultivated plants and domestic animals", which supplemented the main monograph with a variety of factual material.
The third book, which supplemented the ideas about evolution, was published in 1871, it was called "The Origin of man...", and in the 1872 supplement that followed it, entitled "The expression of emotions..."
Darwin, for the first time in the history of science, elevated the origin of man to ape like ancestors.
Thus began the victorious march of Darwinism on the planet.
The scientist received fame, recognition of his services to science, and with it a large number of various regalia established by scientific societies around the world.
The beginning was laid by the award of the Copley Gold Medal to Darwin in 1864 by the Royal Society of London.
In 1882, on April 19, the world famous scientist, who made an unprecedented revolution in the science of living species and man, quietly passed away in the Down estate.
The body of Charles Robert Darwin was transferred to Westminster Abbey, where the father of Darwinism was laid to rest near the grave of another great English scientist – Sir Isaac Newton.
