History of Muse
Muse (read as " Muse”, translated from English – muse) is a British alternative rock band that was formed in 1994 in the city of Teignmouth, in the county of Devon, in the United Kingdom.
Today, Muse is called one of the greatest legacies of rock music of the new millennium.
Music that seems to have come to us from another Galaxy, passionate performance, the strongest theatrical vocals, virtuoso guitar parts, live performances of hurricane power all this distinguishes Muse from many other rock bands!
The band consists of three members Matthew Bellamy (in English Matthew Bellamy – vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist), Chris Wolstenholme (in English Chris Wolstenholme – bass guitarist, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (in English Dominic Howard – drummer and percussionist).
In total, the band has released five studio albums.
During their career, Muse became five time winners of the MTV Europe Music Awards, received five Q Awards, eight NME Awards, two BRIT awards and four Kerrang Awards!
Awards.
Most of these awards were received by them for their concert performances.
Also in 2011, the band was awarded a Grammy Award in the category “Best Rock Album "for the record "Resistance".

Matthew Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme first met in the small English town of Teignmouth in 1990.
When the boys turned 13 years old, they decided to organize their own group “Gothic Plague”.
The team performed mostly covers classic indie covers of the early 90s Of course, the guys did not have much success, and they began to have fun by changing the name of the group.
At first they were renamed "Fixed Penalty”, then" Rocket Baby Dolls “and finally, by 1997, they decided to stop at the name”Muse".
At the same time, they began to take their work more seriously, began to write their own material and intensified their concert activities.
In early 1998, the debut EP titled “Muse” was released on “Dangerous Records”.
The reviews for this release were not important, but the turn of events could not wait long.
In September, the band gave a concert at "In The City" - an English meeting of representatives of the music industry, held in Manchester.
It was then that her path to fame began.
A couple of American labels showed interest in the team, and the trio received an invitation to the Mercury Lounge show, which was held in New York.
Two weeks later, the guys performed at the "Santa Monica Pier" in Los Angeles.
Then I received an offer to sign a contract with the American label “Maverick”.

After that, engagements from the French “Naive”, the German “Motor” and the English “Mushroom Records”poured in.
In January 1999, the second mini – album “Muscle Museum” was released on “Dangerous Records”.
The style of this record was very similar to” Radiohead", but nevertheless the release received very good responses from listeners.
In June of the same year, the single “Uno " appeared, which took 75th place in the British charts.
In the summer, "Muse “was lit up at festivals in Glastonbury and Reading, and in the fall the band finally gave birth to a full – fledged album - ”Showbiz".
The CD received a gold status and sold more than half a million copies worldwide.
Subsequent tours included the territories of England, continental Europe, America, Australia and Japan, and the band's partners were such collectives as:” Skunk Anansie“,” Foo Fighters“,” Red Hot Chili Peppers“, ” Pavement “and”Flaming Lips".
In 2001, the album “Origin Of Symmetry " was released, which, like “Showbiz”, was produced by John Leckie (he also worked on “Venom”, “Radiohead”, “Stone Roses”).
The work had a heavier and darker sound, and in some places the influence of Russian composers Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky was very much visible.
The set of instruments was significantly expanded due to the use of a church organ, mellotrons and an improved drum kit.

According to the plan, “Origin Of Symmetry " was supposed to be released in America.
But when the company “Maverick " began to insist on fitting the sound to the radio format, the musicians did not follow the label's lead, and the contract was immediately terminated.
In 2002, Muse released the album "Hullabaloo", which was composed of B sides and concert numbers.
The new material appeared in 2003.
"Absolution" continued the line of its predecessor, only now there is something Wagnerian in the band's music.
The album was received very warmly, and its appearance was accompanied by the first stadium tour.
In 2004, the band won two awards – "Best Alternative Act" and "Best Live Act", and at the end of the year was awarded a tribute album, which was released by Vitamin Records.
After taking a break from a long tour, in August 2005, “Muse " started regular sessions.
The work was carried out, and just like the previous time, under the supervision of producer Rich Bones (“Rage Against The Machine”).
Muse fans managed to evaluate the next work on July 2, 2006.
In the United States, the album debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart.
"Black Holes and Revelations" became the most successful disc in the band's history.
In the first week of sales, it sold more than a hundred thousand copies.
The album has been sold more than a million times in Europe, while receiving platinum status.
Three years later, on September 14, 2009, the band's fifth studio album, “The Resistance”, appeared on the music shelves of the UK.
A little earlier – on September 11, it was released in Italy, Germany, Australia and Benelux.
The USA and Canada were able to get the disk later than the others only on September 15.
In the first weeks, the album topped the top of the UK chart.
And guitarist Brian May praised the Queen sound that Muse inserted into their new CD.
In the first week, 451 thousand copies were sold, which was a record for the band and for the UK as a whole this year.
The Muse concert.
It should be noted that “The Resistance " is the first album that was produced by the band itself.
To date, four singles have been released from this album — "Uprising”, "Undisclosed Desires", "Resistance" and "Exogenesis: Symphony".
On May 17, 2010, a new single was released called " Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever”".
It was this song that became the soundtrack to the next film of the "Twilight Saga” - "Eclipse".
In addition, the new James Mangold film “Knight of the Day”, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, also features a song from the band's latest album - "Uprising".
Widely known, almost in all corners of the globe, the band Muse, for its creative biography, played more than one concert at the most prestigious music venues, received many awards and the love of fans around the world.
However, the musicians themselves, to everyone's surprise, consider their main victory to be a fatal (in every sense) performance at the school "Battle of the Bands".
Matthew Bellamy recalls this time with nostalgia: "That performance was magical and it gave me the strength to move forward for many years, just by remembering what I experienced then.
It will take us a very long time to even get close to something like this...”
A colorful performance by Muse.
