The medicine is in the hand of the inexperienced, like a sword in the hand of a madman.
Modern medicine in Russia: advantages and disadvantages
Section: Other literature
Medicine has developed and evolved since time immemorial, when shamans and healers learned to use natural ingredients to treat ailments back in those distant times.
As a rule, the treatment was carried out with herbs.
With the development of society, not only medicine developed, various diseases also mutated, adapting to the medicines used by healers.
In the Soviet Union, medicine reached a certain level, but, nevertheless, due to funding problems and political vicissitudes, there were not enough skills and high quality equipment for the treatment of some diseases.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, with the transition to market relations, the necessary equipment began to be imported into the country.
Immediately after that, a whole wave of opening of private clinics, hospitals, health facilities swept through.
An agitation program directed against state medicine was immediately held.
It said that Soviet medical workers were trained in the old fashioned way, without delving into the understanding of modern diseases.
The newly minted fashionable doctors had diplomas and certificates with loud names in English, which indicated that they had completed training courses abroad.
The attitude of the population after perestroika to everything imported was extremely loyal.
After all, you all remember those times when, after a shortage of everything possible, the Russians attacked the filled shelves of stores.
But was everything as it was shown to us in advertising and promoted everywhere?
The fact is that during the Soviet era, although bribery was accepted, there were no cases of deliberately incorrect treatment in polyclinics and hospitals.
All the time, strict control was carried out by the Ministry of Health.
In the 90s, everything changed dramatically.
The country, which could not count on its budgets, ceased to control many social spheres.
This was used by private clinics and other medical institutions that are not on state accreditation.
Medicine and healthcare have fully moved from the sphere of social assistance, albeit paid, and has turned into a very profitable business.
If before that doctors somehow tried to work conscientiously, now, having felt the smell of money, all altruism and professionalism receded into the background, the main task was to earn money on diseases and their treatment.
Everyone probably knows the simplest and, at the same time, the main law of the market: do not look for a buyer, in order to sell once, create regular consumers.
This postulate was guided then, and continues to this day.
There are many cases when people who turned to private clinics were cured of the disease, but at the same time acquired new diseases, with which they were forced to go there as well.
It is also worth noting the market of medicines, which is not without reason considered one of the most profitable in the world.
All the negative aspects associated with improper treatment can not be retold.
Separately, we can talk about moral principles, or rather their absence, and the responsibility of the doctors themselves.
Not all doctors treat their work conscientiously, although it cannot be said that there are no truly disinterested doctors.
The Government and the ministry bear a huge responsibility for this development of medicine.
In the post perestroika period, everyone switched to market relations, social spheres and work at state owned enterprises, including medicine, were left to the attention of the government.
Budgets were spent on everything, but not on medicine.
Do you remember the moment when doctors ' salaries fell sharply?
All this was the prerequisites for the development of this situation, the fruits of which we continue to reap even now.
Of course, such a development of events in the world of medicine had not only negative consequences.
Thanks to imported equipment, the level of medical diagnostics has significantly improved.
With the help of the latest technologies, many diseases that doctors used to give up and throw up their hands before are now treatable.
Now it is not necessary to go abroad for a course of treatment, as it was before.
The level of service in medical institutions has also increased.
If earlier the hospital was a deplorable sight, and there was practically no service, now any medical center sparkles with whiteness and smiles of polite and courteous staff.
And the most important difference, of course, was the cost of medical services.
In order to undergo a full examination in a private clinic, you will have to pay no less than about a thousand or one and a half dollars.
The alternative will be state medical care, where the level of professionalism of doctors has significantly decreased.
Any successful doctor, of course, gets a job in private clinics.
Finishing the excursion on modern medicine, I would like to wish what is most valued in our time: health.
God bless you.
