How to learn to ride a cross country motorcycle
Do you like to drive at high speed, towards the wind, feeling the vibrations of the motorcycle under you and breaking out of the grip of fear?
Before you start riding a cross country motorcycle, you need to learn some fundamental concepts.
Steps
1
Cross country motorcycles have two types of engines: 2 stroke and 4 stroke.
In a 2 stroke engine, the cycle consists of two cycles.
The first cycle is the passage and compression of the fuel - air mixture, the second is the ignition of fuel, the performance of work and cleaning of the cylinder.
Cleaning refers to the removal of exhaust gases from the cylinder.
2 stroke engines require a mixture of oil and gasoline and they are noisier and more powerful.
In a 4 stroke engine, the cycle consists of 4 cycles.
The first cycle is the suction of the fuel - air mixture, the second is its compression, the third is ignition and work, the fourth is cleaning the cylinder.
Unlike 2 stroke engines, 4 stroke engines have two tanks: one for gasoline, the other for oil.
4 stroke engines are quieter and less powerful.
For beginners, we recommend a motorcycle with a 4 stroke engine of 125 cc or with a 2 stroke engine of 50 cc.

How to start a motorcycle.
Before you start driving, find out where the clutch, gas, gear shift, rear brake, front brake and throttle are located.
You should sit on the motorcycle closer to the front.
Before starting, make sure that the neutral gear is turned on.
The neutral is below two and slightly above one.
Hold down the gear shift and gently shift it to neutral.
Rock the bike back and forth.
If it moves smoothly in both directions, then you are in neutral gear.
When the bike is in neutral, you can start it with a foot starter.
Using a foot starter may seem difficult to a beginner, but, in fact, it is very simple.
Just put your foot on the starter, jump up slightly and push it with force.
After you have started the engine, clamp the clutch and shift the gear to the first.
You will realize that you have changed gear, because the motorcycle will jerk forward
Do not release the clutch if you are not moving, otherwise the motorcycle will stall.
3
Be careful when starting the movement.
After switching to first gear, gradually release the clutches, adding gas in parallel.
When you start driving, release the clutch completely.
Donot worry if you stall several times.
Sooner or later, you will understand how much gas you need and how quickly to release the clutch.
4
Switch from the first gear to the second.
When the bike is not moving any faster and you can hear the engine revving at its highest, let off on the gas a bit, pull in the clutch, and kick the shifter up into second.
After switching gears, release the clutch and add gas (you do not need to do this as slowly as when starting).
Also switch to higher gears.
5
When lowering the gear, act in the same way as when increasing it.
Step on the gas, squeeze the clutch and shift the gear.
Never rev up while shifting gears: this may damage the transmission.
Sometimes the motorcycle can switch to neutral instead of the first one.
You will understand this when the motorcycle starts to slow down, roll by inertia, and will not react to the increase in gas.
If this happens, just switch to first gear.
6
Learn to slow down and stop.
If you want to slow down a cross country motorcycle, reduce the gear, release the gas, and brake using the front, rear or both brakes.
When you slow down almost to a complete stop, switch to the first one, squeeze the clutch and stop the motorcycle.
This way, it will not stall.
When you are ready to move off, slowly release the clutch, adding gas.
7
How to avoid corners.
When turning, bend over, choose a trajectory, transfer your entire body by the external pin.
In order not to lose control, follow the planned trajectory.
Push on the external pin: this will give you more traction.
When going around a turn, your outer elbow should deviate upwards, and your inner leg should deviate to the side.
Press the inner leg against the wing.
If you lose control, you will be able to stabilize your position by substituting your foot.
8
Practice on uneven terrain.
Cross country motorcycles are designed for rough terrain.
Depending on where you drive, you should stand 95% of the time.
When you move over bumps and bumps, your legs and arms work as additional shock absorbers.
