Modern globalism is a system of interdisciplinary knowledge about the universal, global problems of our time.
The aggravation of these problems in the second half of the twentieth century made them vital for all mankind and served as an impulse for a comprehensive study of this phenomenon.
The studies of many globalist scientists have shown that the lack of progress in overcoming the problems in question poses a threat to the existence of the human race and can lead, if no solution is found, to the death of humanity.
In globalistics, special attention is paid to the study of the threat to the existence of humanity coming from the deterioration of the global problem situation.
This situation, as a set of crisis processes and phenomena of a global scale, is a complex source of global danger, which in the most general form can be divided into three main levels according to the degree of relevance of its constituent threats to the lives of all people.
The first level consists of sufficiently studied dangers, which already in our time contain the possibility of world catastrophes and disasters.
The most obvious threat related to this level is the danger posed by the accumulated arsenals of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction in the world.
If used, this weapon is known to be capable of repeatedly destroying all life on Earth, including humanity.
In this regard, the prevention of a world nuclear war is considered one of the most important global problems of our time.
Conducting global environmental studies has shown the extreme urgency and complexity of the situation in the field of environmental conservation and maintaining normal functioning, than, for example, the threat of nuclear war.
However, they are not the main life supporting systems of our planet.
The continuation of further destruction of nature can give rise to a global environmental catastrophe that will lead to the degradation of living conditions and, possibly, even to the death of humanity.
A special danger to the life and health of modern man are: widespread pollution of drinking water and air basin, oversaturation of nature with harmful mineral substances and organic compounds as a result of industrial and agricultural activities, the impact of artificial radiation, soil erosion and land degradation, deterioration of pastures, etc.
These sources of danger are more hidden and veiled, affect the very foundations of human existence.
The second level consists of threats that have arisen recently and the danger emanating from them continues to increase.
The causes of the occurrence, methods of elimination and the extent of possible negative consequences from such threats require further research.
At the same time, it has already become obvious that the aggravation of some newly emerged global problems can lead to an increase in human mortality in a number of regions of the world.
For example, the protective ozone layer over densely populated areas of the northern hemisphere has become twice as thin over the past few years.
It was found that a decrease in the ozone content in the planet's atmosphere by one percent leads to an increase in the incidence of skin cancer by several percent.
There are also extremely pessimistic assessments of the phenomenon under consideration.
Thus, according to the German Ministry of Ecology, only during the winter period of 1992/93, the ozone layer over Scandinavia and Northern Europe decreased by 25 percent.
The future prospects are so disappointing that this problem will become a permanent topic at the meetings of the "seven" or "eight" (after the adoption of Russia).
Dangerous global changes are undergoing not only the atmosphere of our planet, but also its climate.
The prospect of warming of the Earth's climate, associated with the greenhouse effect, is of particular concern to global scientists.
Even an increase in temperature in the planetary range by one degree, and this can be realized according to some forecasts in the first half of the XXI century, will lead to a significant change in atmospheric circulation and soil moisture conditions.
The consequence of this will be a significant change in the location of optimal zones on the planet for agriculture and other types of human activity.
These transformations, if they do occur, will affect the vital interests of billions of people, will cause mass migration of the population to areas without a well formed infrastructure.
This can lead to serious social upheavals, dangerous epidemics, and as a result, an increase in human mortality in many regions of the world.
The third of the above mentioned levels includes threats that do not really manifest themselves in the modern world, but can potentially arise in the long term.
So, in global studies, there are predictions that the global warming that has been emerging since the 1980s may be replaced by a sharp cooling and the onset of a "new ice age" in the distant future as a result of the action of forces of nature independent of man.
The depletion of energy sources and raw materials reserves on the planet, uncontrolled population growth, as well as the possible aggravation of other global problems can pose a certain danger to the lives of future generations of people.
In conclusion, it should be noted that.
even a brief analysis of alarmist forecasts developed by modern global studies shows that these studies also affect a broader, general theoretical aspect of the issue under consideration.
First, many of the previously mentioned threats to the human race are generated by the development of modern civilization.
It is not possible to significantly ease the pressure of global problems on humanity without a radical change in the existing structures of civilization and the mechanisms of its functioning.
Understanding the need for a new civilizational shift is an important theoretical problem.
Secondly — the threat of the death of humanity, which comes from global problems, has now become obvious.
At present, a qualitatively new global problem situation has arisen.
Previously, local catastrophes led to the death of individual, sometimes numerous communities of people, but they never put the entire human race on the verge of survival, because there were always unaffected catastrophes on the planet that became quite real.
Modern science is faced with the need to realize the fact that for the first time in history, humanity has become as mortal as every single person.

S t r a w no.
Unfortunately, global studies does not have the opportunity to answer two simple questions: in what direction is the development of humanity moving?
and in what period of development are we at this time?
And the problems of the future at all times seemed to be a black spot.
Sociology is designed to solve a lot of problematic global and ordinary tasks.
But not a modern one - a conglomerate of the wastes of philosophy, logic, statistics, psychology, etc., but a new one based on other definitions and forms of cognition.
It will open many previously unknown doors and niches, which many are unaware of.
It (sociology) will solve the issues of the survival of man and humanity and not only on Earth.
But for now, time is needed.
I wish you all the best.
Thanks.

Very interesting!
And it makes us think about our future( or the future of our descendants). In general, I really like reasoning on this topic...
Besides, you can learn a lot of interesting ideas for essays from this text.
Many thanks to the author!
