Football Players Midfielders Michel Platini
Michel Platini
Michel Platini (born June 21, 1955) is a world famous "Shorty" and "Platosh".
A man with an unsurpassed ability to perform free kicks.
A man whose talent did not remain on the football field – after the end of his football career, Platini turned into a great functionary, which shows in him not only great strength of spirit, but also strength of mind.
Finally, this is so far the only football player who has been awarded the prestigious Golden Ball award three years in a row!
Studying the biography of Platini, it becomes clear that Platini could never have appeared, if not the father of the young Michel.
It was he who instilled in his son a love of football, encouraged Platini Jr.'s long absences on football fields, interpreted certain tactical tricks of the star clubs of those times.
Due to the fact that Platosh did not have any unique physical data, and in other words, he was generally short (this is the nickname given to him by his peers), the guy quickly mastered all sorts of tactical tricks and tricks in the technique when working with the ball.
Platini himself said: "There are at least two million Frenchmen who will overtake me in the cross country, and two million more can put me on the shoulder blades."
Aldo Platini (Michel's father) often had to play the role of his son's agent.
Breeders at some point began to simply besiege the house of a young talent.
The only way out was to decide on a club for Shorty as soon as possible, and Dad chose the strongest club in Lorraine – Nancy.
Moreover, Aldo made a wise decision – not to leave Michel alone at the academy at such a young age and asked to join the club structure.
The leaders of" Nancy " decided that Aldo Platini could quite cope with the role of the coach of the third team.
As a result, both father and son were in the same club in the same composition.
At first, it was very difficult for a seventeen year old boy to train and play with adult matured football players.
Therefore, in the first two years, Michel very rarely appeared on the field, having played a few matches and scored six goals.
But in the 1974/75 season , Platini, who had already grown up and gained experience, was born.
It is not surprising that this season Platosh has scored as many as 17 goals in the opponents ' goal!
By that time, Nancy had fallen out of the elite division of France, but not for long.
Having a newly made leader, the club from Lorraine returned to the top league in 1975/76.
Football experts began to pay attention to Michel Platini more and more often, and the call to the national team did not take long to wait – on March 22, 1976, Platos made his debut in the French national team in a friendly match against the Czechoslovakia national team.
And then, in the same match, it differs from a free kick!
A phenomenal start!
After the national team, success comes to Michel and his "Nancy".
The team from Lorraine wins the French Cup in 1978 – Platini's first trophy at a high level!
On the wave of success, Shorty gets to the World Cup together with the national team of his country.
However, there is nothing good for them there, since the group that Platosh and his comrades got into was, as it is now customary to say, a group of death.
The experience of the French guys was still not enough and the performance of the French national team ended at the group stage.
In 1979, the legendary Platini moved to the solid and most powerful French club of that time Saint Etienne.
In 1981, Michel and his new team won the French championship.
After this triumph, a real hunt of grandees from all over the world unfolds for the 26 year old nugget.
There were offers from Real Madrid, Arsenal, Juventus.
It was the last club that the great Platini stopped his attention and in 1982, right before the World Cup in Spain, he moved to the camp of Juventus Turin.
At first, it was very difficult for Michel Platini in the new team.
He's such a person – he started hard wherever he played.
Problems literally stuck like a snowball!
Here is the problem with adaptation, despite the fact that Platos has Italian roots.
And the training process was significantly different from the French one – more serious loads exhausted the guy to the fullest.
Moreover, the fans were skeptical of him, immediately came up with the offensive nickname "Francese" (Frenchman).
And problems with the media arose regularly.
It would seem that Platini got into the wrong club, another would have spat and left for any other, but not him!
Platini, as a true professional in his field, endured, trained with clenched teeth, literally "died" in training and the result did not take long to wait.
Gradually, Michel got used to the local atmosphere, customs, adapted, so to speak.
The real success and recognition of the fans came to him after the famous match with Torino - the main and most principled rival of Juventus at all times.
In that match, Platini showed true skill, and even scored a winning goal in the final protocol of the match!
In the same year, Michel begins to host several football related programs on the central channels of Italy.
the success is stunning and the nickname "francese" goes from offensive to respectful.
Platini's career took off.
The year 1984 turned out to be special.
Then Juventus, led by such a master as Platos, collected a whole scattering of awards and titles at once: the Champion of Italy, the Cup Winners ' Cup, the European Super Cup, and Michel himself became the European champion as part of the French national team, scoring as many as 9 goals in 5 masts.
A unique achievement.
Naturally, the prize as the best football player in Europe also went to Platini.
The only peak that did not submit to the great Platini was the World Cup.
Although two World Cups in a row in 1982 and 1986, the French national team was stopped by a powerful German machine in the semifinals.
In 1987, to everyone's surprise, the legendary "Francese" at the age of 32 decided to hang his boots on a nail.
Almost all the football stars, led by Pele, gathered for the farewell match with Platini.
Platini did not become a world champion, but he was seen off like a champion.
Platini returned to football in 1991, leading the French national team.
Platos was even recognized as the best coach of 1991 for the result shown by his team in the qualifying group for the European Championship – 8 wins in 8 matches.
But in fact, the French did not even reach the semifinals in Sweden, losing to the strong Danish national team.
It was a failure and the once great player Platini refused to coach.
He considers himself too soft tempered and too intelligent for this.
Despite the fact that Michel Platini himself did not lead his national team to the championship at the World Cup, but he still waited for the triumph of the French national team in 1998.
He himself was involved in the organization of this championship, which was held in his homeland, and did everything so well that he immediately attracted the attention of UEFA functionaries.
In 2002, Platini officially began to hold the position of an official of two organizations at once FIFA and UEFA, dreaming of the presidential chair in the latter.
In 2007, his dream comes true – Michel Platini, replacing Lennart Johansson, becomes president of UEFA.
On December 21, 2015, Michel Platini was accused of corruption by the FIFA Ethics Committee.
And although the guilt was not proven, the FIFA Ethics Committee, taking into account indirect evidence, suspended Platini for 8 years from any football activity, thereby putting an end to the Frenchman's career.
