From his early school years, James was the object of constant attention of the American media, who praised him as a future NBA star.[source not specified 299 days]
In 2003, he was selected in the NBA draft at number 1 by the Cleveland Cavaliers. [4]
James was 18 years old at the time, and he became the second player in the history of the association, who was selected immediately after school in the draft at the first number.[source not specified 299 days]
LeBron's childhood was spent in constant moving from place to place, which made it very difficult for him to study at school and make friends.
The only thing that has always been with young James is basketball, which, like American football, showed itself quite early.
Subsequently, LeBron's football coach Frank Walker sheltered his ward at home, thereby ending his endless moves and skipping school.
By the eighth grade, he had grown to 185 cm, could play in all five positions and, according to his coach, had a basketball sixth sense.
Less than a year later, LeBron's team reached the final of the national championship among eighth graders.
It was then that they first started talking about James as a future basketball star.
LeBron became a full fledged star in the Akron St. Vincent — St. Mary team, from where he was drafted into the NBA.
Gradually, he became so popular that his matches in the junior team were even shown on national television.
In 2003, James put himself up for the draft.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, knowing about such a talent, even gave their key basketball player Miller in the middle of the season in order to take the last place at the end of the season and have more chances to get a young talent for themselves.
James ' competitors in the draft were 2006 NBA champion Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Kirk Heinrick.
Career in the NBA[edit / edit wiki text]
Cleveland Cavaliers (2003-2010)[edit / edit wiki text]
James, as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, leads the ball in one of the games in April 2009.
The first season[edit / edit wiki text]
James was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers under the first pick in the 2003 NBA draft.
In his first game in the league, he scored 25 points against the Sacramento Kings, becoming the most productive NBA debutant right after school.
On March 27, 2004, in a game against the New Jersey Nets, LeBron James scored 41 points, becoming the youngest player to score 40 or more points per game at the age of 19.
2009/2010[edit / edit wiki text]
In the 2009/2010 season, such players as Shaquille O'Neal, Antoine Jamison, Anthony Parker came to Cleveland.
James, averaging 29.7 points per game and making 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists, earned his second title of the League's Most Valuable Player in the regular season.
In the elimination games, LeBron and Co. beat Chicago 4-1 quite easily in the first round, then quite unexpectedly lost to Boston with a score of 2-4.

On July 8, 2010, James announced on ESPN live that he had signed a contract with the Miami Heat, [5] which caused a storm of indignation in Ohio — up to the public burning of T shirts with the number 23.
As LeBron himself said, his decision was influenced by friends and family, as well as the desire to win the championship[6]:
I'm moving to Miami — this is a decision that I made.
I want to win not only in specific matches, but also to fight for titles.
The main factor in making the decision was the ability to win now and in the future.
My heart will always remain in "Cleveland", I have great respect for everyone with whom I managed to work.
I deliberately put myself in a position where I could choose the team myself, considering various proposals.
This is an invaluable experience.
Immediately after the announcement of LeBron's decision to move to Miami, the owner of the Cavaliers team, Dan Gilbert, addressed the fans with an open letter through the official website[7]:
Dear Cleveland fans, our former hero, who grew up on our land, has left the team.
He announced this after several days of narcissism and narcissism in an unprecedented TV show.
Naturally, we are disappointed, but the club's management has never betrayed you and will not betray you.
You do not deserve such treatment and deserve a better life.
I want to make a statement.
I personally guarantee that Cleveland will win the NBA championship before the self proclaimed former King.
We have a fantastic motivation, because some people think that they can go to heaven without dying.
They are mistaken.
A person who called himself the chosen one should not become an example for our children.
People often talk about the curse of Cleveland.
They say that it is unrealistic to win something here.
Let the former King take the curse with him to the south.
The NBA fined the owner of" Cleveland " Dan Gilbert for a letter addressed to Cleveland fans for$100,000.
8] Gilbert later admitted that he regretted the words he said after signing James ' contract with the Miami Heat.[source not specified 299 days]
In the 2010/2011 season, James ' teammates were long time friends on the US national team Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh.
The players were immediately called the "new Big Trio", by analogy with the trio that Boston basketball players Garnett Allen Pierce made up three years ago, immediately winning the NBA championship.[9]
During the NBA All Star Game on February 21, 2011, while playing for the East team, he made the second triple double in the history of the all star game (29 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists).
The first triple double in all Star games was made in 1997 by Michael Jordan.
In early April 2011, LeBron James became a minority owner of the Liverpool Football Club.
11][12][13].
James himself said that he "dreams of being able to achieve such success", which the Merseyside club has achieved[13].
Later, the basketball player began to appear at press conferences in the attributes of "Liverpool" [14].
LeBron makes a slam dunk as part of the US national team in the match against Nigeria at the Olympic Games in London
In the 2011/12 season, James became the first NBA champion in his career.
He also won his third MVP title, averaging 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.9 steals per game and was recognized as the most valuable player of the finals.
LeBron, as part of the "Dream Team", won his second gold at the Olympic Games.
The Americans won all 8 matches, beating the Spaniards in the final.
In the quarterfinal match against the Australians, James recorded a triple double (11 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists).
LeBron James made history by becoming the second NBA player, after Michael Jordan, who in one season managed to win the NBA championship, the title of the most valuable player of the regular season, the most valuable player of the finals and gold medals with the US national team at the 2012 Olympics in London.
James joined the Miami Heat in December 2012
In early December 2012, the American edition of Sports Illustrated named James the athlete of the year.
He was recognized as the most valuable basketball player of the NBA regular season, became the champion of the association, and in the final was also recognized as the best player, the gold of the Olympic Games[15].
On January 17, 2013, LeBron became the youngest basketball player to break the 20,000 point mark in the NBA.
He overcame this mark in the second quarter of the match with the Golden State Warriors, following which Miami achieved a victory with a score of 92: 75.
James became the 38th player who managed to cross this threshold.
Previously, the youngest player to score 20,000 points in the NBA was Kobe Bryant, who set a record at the age of 29 years and 122 days.
James broke the record at the age of 28 years and 17 days. [16][17]
At the end of the 2012-13 regular season, James was named the most valuable basketball player of the NBA regular season for the fourth time, scoring 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.3 assists and making 36 double doubles (a personal record) and 4 triple doubles during the season[18].
The only player who managed to get four of these awards are for five years, is bill Russell (1961, 62, 63, 65).
Only five players — Kareem Abdul Jabbar (six times), Michael Jordan (five), bill Russell (five) and wilt Chamberlain (four), received the MVP award more than three times.
120 of the 121 journalists surveyed gave LeBron James the first places (a total of 1207 points).
The top five in the voting also includes: striker thunder Kevin Durant (765), forward Knicks Carmelo Anthony (475), point guard clippers Chris Paul (289) and Lakers Kobe Bryant (184).
James said that was more eager to win the prize for best semideluxe player.
On November 5, 2013, James became the fifth player in the history of the league to score 10 or more points in 500 consecutive games. [19] [20]
Previously, a similar achievement was achieved by Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who twice in his career overcame the milestone of 500 games (787 and 508 matches), Michael Jordan (866), Karl Malone (575) and Moses Malone (526)[21].
On April 4, LeBron became the youngest player to score 23 thousand points in a match against the Minnesota Timberwolves[22].
James crossed this mark at the age of 29 years and 116 days[23], surpassing the Los Angeles Lakers defenseman Kobe Bryant[24], and on May 6, in the second round of the playoffs against Brooklyn, LeBron became the third player in NBA history to overcome the mark of 4,000 points, 900 rebounds and 900 assists in the playoffs.
Previously, only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant achieved such an achievement.
25][26].
On May 12, James scored 49 points in the fourth match against Brooklyn, repeating his personal record of performance in relegation matches[27][28] and updated the club's record for points scored in playoff matches (previously the record belonged to Dwyane Wade, who scored 46 points)[29].
Free Agent 2014[edit / edit wiki text]
In June 2014, LeBron James took advantage of an option in his contract and became an unrestricted free agent.
30].
Cleveland Cavaliers (2014 present)[edit / edit wiki text]
On July 1, 2014, James terminated his contract and became a free agent.[31]
On July 12, 2014, James signed a two year, $ 42.1 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers with the right to early termination after one season. [32]
In the same summer, Kevin Love moved to the team from Minnesota, which allowed us to talk about the appearance of a new "Big Trio" (LeBron Irving Love) in Cleveland[33].
In addition, the head coach was replaced by David Blatt, who has achieved great success at the international level, but has never worked with an NBA team.
The beginning of the 2014/15 season for the Cavaliers was unsuccessful — with five wins, the team suffered 7 defeats.
Then, from the end of November to December 11, a series of eight consecutive victories followed.
In December, the team again experienced a decline.
On January 2, an examination revealed problems with James ' left knee and lower back.
A course of procedures was developed for recovery, while LeBron did not participate in regular season matches for two weeks.
The pause in performances was good for me, but not for the Cavaliers.
The team was suffering on the court, which was painful for me to look at.
At the same time, my body received a much needed rest[34].
On January 5, 2015, as a result of a three way trade to Cleveland, New York Knicks players Iman Shumpert and J. R. Smith were strengthened in exchange for defenseman Dion Waiters, who became a player of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Lou Amundson, Alex Kirk and the right pick of the second round of the 2019 draft, as well as Lance Thomas from Oklahoma City, moved to New York.
Then, on January 1, 2015, Cleveland acquired Russian center Timofey Mozgov and the Denver Nuggets '2015 second round draft pick [35] in exchange for the Cavaliers' two protected 2015 first round draft picks received from Oklahoma and Memphis.
According to the results of the games since January 15, Cleveland has won 34 victories with 9 defeats.
The team managed to reach the playoffs for the first time in 5 years, finishing the championship with 53 wins (29 losses).
At the end of the season, LeBron averaged 25.3 points, 6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game.
Cleveland won the central division, and also finished second in the Eastern Conference, passing only the Atlanta Hawks[36].
In the first round of relegation matches, the Cavaliers confidently beat the Boston Celtics (4-0), but during the series they lost Kevin Love, who suffered a shoulder injury.
Then, the Cavaliers successively defeated Chicago (4-2), Atlanta (4-0) and for the second time in their history became champions of the Eastern Conference, reaching the NBA Championship Finals.
During overtime of game 1 of the finals against the Golden State Warriors, Kyrie Irving aggravated the injury to his left knee received in the first game of the Eastern Conference finals of the NBA playoffs and was unable to continue the match[37] An MRI revealed a fracture of Kyrie's left kneecap, so Irving missed the remaining games of the finals, and the Cavaliers lost to the Warriors in six games.
Following the results of the final series of the playoffs, LeBron James became the first player in the history of the NBA to become the leader among all basketball players who entered the court at once in points, rebounds and assists.
James averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 8.8 assists in the final against Golden State (2-4).

At the same time, James clarified that he does not plan meetings with other clubs and intends to conclude a new agreement with the Cavaliers, but on more favorable terms[38].
On July 10, James signed a new 1+1 agreement with the club in the amount of $ 46.9 million.
The last season is an option for the player[39].
