Rand Ain
Rand Ayn (English)
1905 - 1982
USA
The literary pseudonym of Alice Zinovievna Rosenbaum, who was born in Russia and later became an American writer.
She developed her own concept of objectivism.
"In 1921, at the age of sixteen, Rand entered the Petrograd University.
She chose history in order to gain an actual understanding of human achievements, her specialization was medieval Europe, since it was a "stylized" subject completely unrelated to the Soviet government.
She also studied philosophy in order to acquire an objective definition of her values.
Teachers mostly gave lectures based on their published works, so Rand spent most of her time at home studying these works, and attended only specialized seminars."

Ayn Rand graduated from Leningrad University with a degree in history and emigrated to the United States in 1926.
In 1957, Ayn Rand wrote her most famous novel: Atlas Shrugged.
"Atlant straightens his shoulders - a mysterious story full of romance, and a philosophical work under one cover.
The main character of the book, Dagny Taggart, tries to fight corruption at the national level.
She is assisted by entrepreneur Hank Rearden and Baron Francesco d'Anconia.
However, the main acting character is not shown until the very end of the book, and only there the reader receives an answer to the questions asked to him.
Why is the greatest living philosopher working as a cook in a diner in the Rocky Mountains?
How did the most outstanding inventor of our time become a bandit committing robbery on the railway?
What happens when people who can save the world decide not to save it?
The author is upset about the fact that people waste the only thing that distinguishes them from animals - the mind.
Those who no longer ask: "Why do I live?" or "What will I do next or will I create something that would justify my existence?", for Rand, are equated with the dead.
Society provides all kinds of protection for every mediocrity, because people agree not to point out the shortcomings of other people, if their shortcomings are also not pointed out.
Rand considers the desire to be content with little in order to conform to "human nature" to be inhumane.
One of her characters claims that most people donot really want to live, that they just "drag out their existence".
When Dagny Taggart asks Francesco d'Anconia what type of person he thinks is the worst, he does not hesitate to answer: "A person without a goal."

"After the publication of the novel "Atlas Shrugged", Rand devoted the rest of her life to explaining her philosophical views.
From 1962 to 1976, she was the publisher and editor of three periodicals.
These publications were devoted to the consideration of events and ideas dominating in contemporary culture from the position of objectivism, and a lot of materials were used to write six non fiction works on the philosophy of Rand and its application. [ ... ]
Ayn Rand believed that historical trends are an inevitable product of philosophy.
She showed that the rise of mysticism, collectivism and self sacrifice was the main reason for the modern attack on the individual.
She argued that in order to change the main trends in politics around the world, it is necessary to change the fundamental philosophy of society.
It has formulated its own philosophy - objectivism, and this philosophy acts as an advocate of reason, reasonable egoism, individual rights and free market capitalism, and this philosophy acts as an antidote to the modern crisis of Western civilization.
Rand considered universities to be the main battleground for reason and capitalism.
However, during her lifetime, the academic world remained closed to her views.
The only exception was American university students.
Throughout the 60s and 70s, young people showed an increasing interest in objectivism and its application.
In her works, at lectures and during private discussions with students of philosophy faculties, Rand encouraged their interest, which after her death in 1982 was firmly established in the American scientific community.
Once closed to her radical views, today universities are increasingly recognizing her work and philosophy.
Among the signs of recognition are the following important events: in 1985, the Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) was established to develop teaching and spread objectivism, its creator was Dr. Leonard Reikof, the literary heir of Ayn Rand."
Jeff Britting, Ayn Rand: "I oppose myself to 2500 years of cultural traditions", in the Collection: Famous Universants: essays on pets of St. Petersburg University, Volume 3, St. Petersburg, "Famous Universants", 2005, pp.
437 and 438.
In her youth, Ayn Rand was influenced by the ideas of Aristotle, Victor Hugo and Friedrich Nietzsche.
