Marilyn Monroe began her life under the name Norma Jean Mortensen.

He quietly disappeared from the family shortly before the birth of Norma Jean.
The girl had a difficult childhood, which fell during the years of the great American depression.
When she was 7 years old, her mother was placed in a psychiatric hospital.
Norma Jean spent the next three years in orphanages.
Her mother's best friend Grace Goddard took the girl to her home when she was 11 years old.
Before her marriage, which took place when Norma turned 16, she lived in Grace's house.
On Saturdays, Norma liked to go to the morning movie shows.
This gave her the opportunity, at least for a while, to be in a completely different world, different from the one that surrounded her in real reality.
Norma Jean was a dreamy girl with a rich imagination
She imagined that her father looked like Clark Gable; she dreamed of a beautiful life, in which there were necessarily tropical islands, yachts, palaces and beautiful scenes of seduction.
She also quite often had the same dream in which she tore off all her clothes in church, and the shocked audience, silently and admiringly admired her naked splendor.
Norma Jean's marriage to the worker Jim Dougherty, who at first seemed to be her savior, soon turned into a source of continuous disappointment for her.
Later, Marilyn Monroe liked to tell creepy stories about how she was raped in an orphanage when she was just a child.
Dougherty also stated that it was he who deprived Norma Jean of her virginity.
Whatever it was, but Norma Jean was bored with housekeeping, and she was relieved to meet the news that her husband was going overseas.
This happened in 1944.
She started working at a military factory, where a photographer found her.
Norma Jean loved to pose, and the photographs (some called the camera her only faithful lover) showed a beautiful young woman who passionately wanted to be liked and noticed, sensual and easily vulnerable at the same time, a peculiar combination of charm and innocence.
Norma Jean decided that she could become a star, divorced her husband and became a popular fashion model, and in 1946 she came to film auditions at the Twentieth Century Fox film studio.
The auditions were extremely successful, and the studio signed a contract with her.
She was advised to make her hair lighter and change her name.
So Norma Jean Mortensen became Marilyn Monroe.
Marilyn always created an atmosphere around herself, as if electrified by sex.
She constantly thought about sex, imagined how she would do it with all the men with whom fate brought her together.
She, however, was not completely promiscuous in her sexual relations and had sex only with those men who liked her.
She usually preferred men who were older than herself.
In the late 40s, Hollywood was, according to Monroe, "an overflowing brothel."
She needed the help of someone who would help her get up from the crowd of third rate Hollywood beauties at the film studio.
Marilyn's first patron was 70 year old producer Joe Schenk, a veteran of Hollywood.
He often invited the aspiring actress to restaurants, as well as to his home and to his office.
There he sat comfortably in a chair and caressed the breasts of Marilyn, who was kneeling in front of him and performing fellatio.
Schenck introduced Marilyn to Harry Cohn, the tyrant owner of the Columbia Pictures film studio.
Marilyn started acting there, but she was fired after finishing work on the first film for allegedly refusing Cohn's sexual claims.
Comedian Milton Berle, who achieved success where Cohn failed to do so, later claimed: "She did not try to satisfy me just because I could help her... she did it because she liked me."
At that time, Marilyn also liked Fred Karger, who gave her vocal lessons.
Fred enjoyed using Marilyn's sexual services with pleasure, but did not reciprocate her feelings.
When 22 year old Marilyn was fired from the Columbia Pictures film studio, she worked for a while in a small bar where she was engaged in striptease.
There she had a two week love affair with 18 year old musician Anton LaVey.
They had sex in motels, and when they didnot have money, they had sex in Marilyn's car.
LaVey later wrote that Monroe was sexually passive and received great satisfaction not so much from the sex itself, but from the admiration that men expressed about the beauty of her body.
Many of Marilyn's biographers tend to agree with him on this.
Fred Giles wrote that she was "too self absorbed for most of her life to respond adequately to everything that concerned men, including even sex."
Norman Mailer noted: "It was nice to spend time in bed with Marilyn, but she liked to receive, not invent something new."
Even after becoming a star, Marilyn showed sometimes touching insecurity.
"I donot even know if I'm doing this right," she whispered after a sexual encounter with actor Marlon Brando.
Sometimes she would climb naked into bed with her next partner and ask him: "Do nothing, just hold me tight."
The writer Bob Slatzer often "held" Marilyn in this way and even claimed later that he was married to Marilyn for a short time in Mexico.
They divorced very quickly and without sandal, because Marilyn changed her mind about being his wife.
With most men, however, sex was very simple: "They were overwhelmed with confidence in their abilities, and I did not have it at all.
They helped me feel better and more confident."
After Schenck, Johnny Hyde, one of the most famous advertising agents in Hollywood, became Marilyn's patron.
53 year old Hyde fell in love with Marilyn and asked her to marry him.
She refused his offer.
He gave her a sense of security, provided her with a new wardrobe and paid for plastic surgery to correct some of the shortcomings of her nose and chin.
The most important thing was that Hyde used his influence and gave Marilyn the opportunity to star in the films "Asphalt Jungle" (1950) and "All about Eve" (1950).
Marilyn did not get any satisfaction from having sex with Hyde, but she did not want to offend him and pretended to be completely ecstatic every time.
When Marilyn signed her first contract, she exclaimed: "And here is the last member that I will have to kiss again!"
With her friend Shelly Winters, Marilyn once, as if in jest, made a list of famous men whom she would like to seduce.
Later, Shelly accidentally found a photo of the scientist in Marilyn's house.
On the back of the photo, Einstein's handwriting read: "With respect, love and gratitude."
Joe DiMaggio, an American baseball star, became Marilyn's first real hero lover.
He was 37 years old.
He had just left the big sport, was in great shape and was a great addition to Marilyn, who became a real screen star by 1953 after the release of the films "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" and "How to marry a Millionaire", in which she played the main roles.
Even the appearance of such a sensational calendar on sale, in which Marilyn posed nude (the calendar was made during difficult times for her, when she had absolutely no money), seemed to only help her career, causing increased interest in her from the public.
DiMaggio, however, did not want his wife to remain a movie star after their marriage.
DiMaggio was a strong, strong willed, silent and proud man.
He hated Hollywood and the public display of his wife's sexual virtues.
Trying to get rid of the stereotype of a sexy blonde imposed on her by the studio, Marilyn left Hollywood and went to the east coast of the country, where she met a man who was interested, as it seemed to her, not only in her body.
This man, the playwright Arthur Miller, was as widely known in radical literary circles as DiMaggio was in the baseball world.
They were married in 1956.
Lena Pepitone, who worked as a maid in the Miller house, later described how Marilyn spent time in New York in between filming, rehearsals and psychiatric treatment sessions.
Arthur Miller was working in his bedroom.
She drank champagne and listened to Frank Sinatra records for hours.
Often she also chatted for a long time on the phone or admired the reflection of her naked body in the mirror.
Marilyn was an absolutely free person, without any complexes.
She never had her own underwear (she simply did not wear it and therefore did not need it); she rarely took a bath, liked to eat in bed, wiping her hands on the sheets, which had to be changed often, especially when Marilyn had her period.
After one night of almost continuous sex, Marilyn did not allow the maid to replace the sheets, saying: "I want to lie on them all day."
Soon, Marilyn had two miscarriages, despite the fact that she had a special operation.
She fell into a state of deep depression.
Films with her participation cost producers more and more expensive, because Marilyn began to be chronically late for filming or even disrupt them without appearing on the set.
Suffering from insomnia, Marilyn began to use a huge number of powerful sedatives.
Miller saved her from certain death several times, preventing her from poisoning herself with these drugs due to an accidental overdose.
The Millers divorced in 1960 on the day John F. Kennedy became president of the United States.
Marilyn was almost 35 years old.
She was lonely and terribly afraid of the rapidly approaching, as it seemed to her, old age.
She needed to convince herself that she was still young and beautiful.
She began a widely publicized affair with Yves Montand, with whom she co starred in the film "Let's Make Love" (1960).
He, however, stunned her by the fact that he soon broke off their love affair, because he did not want to leave his wife Simone Signora.
Marilyn hoped that their romance would not become just another meaningless love affair for both of them.
Then began her meetings in dirty hotels with the Danish journalist Hans Jorgen Lemburn, whose hands, as she claimed, made her fall asleep, not get excited.
Marilyn began to have sex with her massage therapist Ralph Roberts, as well as with her driver.
Sometimes DiMaggio stayed at her house for the night, but they still had completely opposite points of view regarding Marilyn's future career and life.
Frank Sinatra also became a close friend and lover of Monroe.
His sexual requests and his care for her so admired Marilyn that she began to dream that they would someday, perhaps, become husband and wife.
Sinatra then introduced her to the Kennedy family.
In 1962, Marilyn once asked her friend Bob Slatzer: "Can you imagine me as the first lady?"
She secretly met with the president at the house of his sister's husband Peter Lawford in Santa Monica, at the Beverly Hills Hotel and on board the presidential plane.
She bought a house in Los Angeles and began to live in this city again, because at any moment the Lord God himself could "appear there "(John Kennedy).
Telling her friends about her sexual relationship with Kennedy, Marilyn, giggling, said that the president's behavior in bed is "very democratic" and "deeply penetrating."
Marilyn also said that Kennedy liked to caress her, but once refused to make sure with his own hand that she was not wearing underwear this time, when they were sitting next to each other at a banquet.
Kennedy also became annoyed with Marilyn's constant lateness and her frequent phone calls.
He was afraid of a completely unnecessary scandal for him.
At the celebration of the 45th anniversary of John F. Kennedy Square Garden in New York, Marilyn was in the center of attention, performing the song "Happy Birthday"on stage.
About a month later, John F. Kennedy decided to end his relationship with Monroe.
Trying to soften the blow, he introduced Marilyn to his brother Bobby.
It was rumored that the first sexual contact between Bobby and Marilyn occurred in a car near Lawford's house.
Marilyn again began to make plans for a possible marriage.
When she realized that there was no question of any marriage, and after Robert Kennedy changed his phone number so that she would not call him again, Marilyn even thought about holding a press conference and telling the whole world the truth about her relationship with both brothers.
Was Marilyn's death a suicide or a murder?
In the summer of 1962, Marilyn's mental state was unstable, and her mood quickly changed from fun to despair and vice versa.
She again began to use a large number of various medications and visit a psychiatrist every day.
She was removed from her last film for the fact that she practically did not appear on the set.
Marilyn was also in despair because she could not keep any man around her for a long time.
Her life has become aimless and disorderly.
The whole world was shocked by the news that one Sunday morning in April, Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home.
The cause of death was poisoning from the use of too many medications.
Later, a version appeared that Marilyn was the victim of a prepared murder.
The authors of this book met with Dr. Hyman Engelberg, who at one time announced the cause of death of the actress.
Engelberg said that he has no doubt that the death of Marilyn Monroe occurred as a result of suicide.
The irony of fate was that Marilyn Monroe, who was considered the goddess of love, died from a lack of love, which she always needed so much.
