History of Comics
115 years ago, on October 18, 1896, the first comics appeared in the New York Journal, bright drawings with short texts that told about brave heroes and their exploits.
But did comics really appear only in 1896?
The appearance of modern comics was preceded by the political cartoons of the XVIII century by William Hogarth.
They were a series of drawings united by a common idea.
The next important stage in the development of the art of creating comics was the activity of Rodolf Tepffer and Wilhelm Busch.
The first became famous for "The Story of Mr. Vio Bois", the other was brought world fame by the popular poetry series "Max and Moritz", which tells about two tomboys.
"The Bear and the Tiger" was the name of the first American comic book, which was published in 1892.
No less popular was the story "Yellow Kid" about a little boy from China who came to America in search of adventure..
The famous creator of comics is Rudolf Derks.
It was he who came up with" bubbles", frames in which the characters ' speech is placed.
Then follows the rapid development of comics, there are new heroes who live today: Superman, Batman, Spider Man, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Captain America, Delly and Harvey.
Entire publishing companies specializing in the publication of comics are being created: "Marvel", "DC", "Dark Horse"and" Image Comics".
One of the largest is the company "Marvel".
She released such masterpieces as" Fantastic Four"," The Incredible Hulk"," X Men"," Iron Man","Spider Man".
And now some crazy numbers:
The first issue of the Superman comic book was purchased this year for $ 1 million, back in 1938 it could be purchased for 10 cents.
For 100 thousand euros, we purchased the original title image of the comic book "Black Island".
The first edition of Spider Man comics cost 40 thousand dollars, in 1963 its cost was 12 cents.
