The central event of the sports festival dedicated to the opening of the OPPV was the official football meeting for the championship of the capital, when players with a new logo for Muscovites - "OPPV" - ran out on the football field of the Sokolniki stadium for the first time.
This memorable date was approved by the order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR on June 23, 1963 as the birthday of the Central Sports Club of the Army.
Formally, on a territorial basis, the pedigree of the club could be traced back to 1911, when the OLS organized a football team.
In 1912, a football field was built on the 4th Ray glade of Sokolnicheskaya Grove, and later a stadium was built, which was first called OLS , then OPPV and, finally, CDKA.

The 1925 championship was not completed, and the army team retained the title of the strongest team, and the following year the OPPV was awarded the championship of the capital in the category of first teams.
