"The History of Middle Earth" (eng.
The History of Middle earth is a series of twelve books compiled by Christopher Tolkien and summarizing the early unpublished drafts of his father, J. R. Tolkien.

The series was published posthumously, starting from 1983 to 1996.
The editions of The History of Middle earth are not novels and do not have a whole plot.
Like the Silmarillion published earlier, they are a general description of events and phenomena in Arda and a retelling of the biographies of some heroes.
Along with the Silmarillion, they are used as a description of the history of Middle earth.

Russian translation[edit / edit wiki text]
To date, there is no complete translation of the series into Russian.
Nevertheless, the first two books have been translated by the TTT community (2000, 2002), the fourth — "Elsewhere" (2006), work on the third and fifth volumes is being completed.
Also, excerpts from all volumes were translated by different people at different times, much, especially from the final volumes (X XII), is posted on the world Wide Web.
