High speed assembly of the Rubik's Cube, who are speedcubers and Jessica Friedrich?
The first international Rubik's Cube assembly championship, called "The Brand of Hungary", was held in Budapest in 1982.
This is not surprising, since the Rubik's Cube puzzle was invented by Erne Rubik.
Since then, many championships have been held for high speed cube assembly.
People who are fond of high speed assembly of a Rubik's cube are called speedcubers.
And the high speed assembly itself is speedcubing.
Now, one of the main, popular methods of high — speed assembly is the method of the Czech Jessica Friedrich (Jessica Friedrich), in the picture.
Official competitions in the high speed assembly of the Rubik's Cube are regularly held by the World Cube Association (WCA).
Every year there is a European Championship or a World Championship.
According to the WCA rules, before assembling, all 3x3x3 cubes must be mixed equally according to the scramble algorithm using the Cube Explorer program.
The winner is determined not by the result of a single assembly, but by the average time of 5 attempts, while the best and worst attempts are not taken into account.
The current record for high speed cube assembly!
It was installed by speedcuber Mats Wolf, who collected a 3×3×3 cube in 5.55 seconds.
The previous world records are 5.66 seconds, 7.08 and 8.72 seconds.
In October 2011, the CubeStormer II robot, specially assembled from 4 sets of Lego Mindstorms, broke the human record and assembled a cube in 5.53 seconds.
But since the record was not set in the presence of the WCA commission, it is not official.
